Obama, Clinton Hug It Out, But Don't Mess With Bill

Posted Jul 1st 2008 11:00AM by Faye Anderson
Filed under: BlackSpin, Elections, Barack Obama

The first black Democratic presidential nominee and the first black last Democratic President of the United States are BFF again.

Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have patched up their differences stemming from Clinton's dismissal of Obama's victory in the South Carolina primary and other racially-tinged comments.

And remember not long after throwing his hat in for president last year, Obama affectionately said he's like to have Willy in his cabinet? ...

The two top Democrats spoke by phone and ended their mutual "silent treatment" yesterday. Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said:
Senator Obama had a terrific conversation with President Clinton and is honored to have his support in this campaign. He has always believed that Bill Clinton is one of this nation's great leaders and most brilliant minds, and looks forward to seeing him on the campaign trail and receiving his counsel in the months to come.
With his ego stroked, Clinton finally showed Obama some respect. Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna said in a statement:
President Clinton continues to be impressed by Senator Obama and the campaign he has run, and looks forward to campaigning for and with him in the months to come. The President believes that Senator Obama has been a great inspiration for millions of people around the country, and he knows that he will bring the change America needs as our next President.
While Obama is the new Alpha male, Clinton wanted to show him that he is still the "Big Dog."

1. You simply cannot trust the Clintons. They are a dynamic power couple and a force to be reckoned with. Rumor has it that Billy Boy tried to snub Oprah at the dinner for Mandela's 90th Birthday. I know he is disheartened that his wife lost; but being a sore loser will make you lose even more cool points within the black community.

2. Hello Buzz Session,

I'm in total agreement with you... I usually discard articles, which in my opinion promote negative response. However, I have a errie feeling about Bill Clinton's true intent. I found his most recent remark toward Barack Obama a total disgrace!" (Obama can kiss my ***) I'm not feeling a genunine solidary amongst the Clintons.

According to CNN Newsbroadcast, Bill Clinton Made a disrespectful remark while visiting Europe. In my humble opinion, I truly believe the next day, Bill tried to cover his tracks, by finally giving a long awaited endosement to Obama . I it saddens me to distance myself from the Clintons." I have lost respect for the clintons and it hurts, because I once admired them both.

3. I have never cared for either of the Clinton's and still don't. They are both like a drunk, who will say anything he feel's and when sober try to act like he didn't mean it.

What black people need to do is see our enermies for who they really are and take off the blinders.

4. 1st of all forrealfreedom, you are a liar! Obama is NOT a muslim and Rev. Wright is Not
anti-white! You are probably white and cloaking in here! Take your sheet off and stop spreading your false info. Bill and Hillary Clinton are brilliant people but they are also power hungry and extremely petty. They both stooped lower than I thought they would to win the presidential nomination, injecting racism, sexism, and just outright lying and insulting! Then Hillary instead of giving Obama the respect the night he won, she didn't concede but bragged about herself and all her followers! Billy ran away to wherever the hell he was, like a child that lost his turn to "play marbles". Now he comes and wants to hug and make-up? "Smiling faces", remember that song??? In all of this, Obama has been the perfect gentleman even offering to help Hillary pay off that huge debt! He has more class than half the knucke-heads in Washington politics!

6. This whole thing is really sad. I guess the Clintons are resigned to back Obama for the good of the party but mostly for their legacy and what they can get out of it...Bill was serious when he said Obama must kiss his ass...that includes paying up.

They really don't want Obama to win unless he puts Hillary in as VP...If so, they will have him bumped off so she can be the president. These folks are sinister sore losers on a good day. They are plotting right now.

If Obama wins, they will undermine him so she can run against him again in 4 years. If he loses, she will run again in 4 years. She really doesn't want to wait 8 years because she'll be nearly 70 then and too old to run. The job is no job for old men...or old women either. McCain will get a more youthful "pretty face" in Romney as VP to counter his age problem, since the drums are beating for Romney as VP. Romney figures McCain won't last 8 years and he (Romney) will be able to run again in 4 years.

7. WE ARE CONSTANTLY TALKING ABOUT THE CLINTONS AND THEIR SUPPOSED RACISM AND THE DISTRUST WE HAVE FOR THEM. WHERE WAS ALL THIS CRITICISM BEFORE OBAMA WAS EVEN KNOWN, THERE ARE AFRICAN AMERICANS I WOULD NOT TRUST AS FAR AS I COULD THROW THEM, STOP BEING SO HYPOCRITICAL AND GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER IN ALL AREAS NOT JUST THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. IT WOULD BE SO NICE IF WE WOULD CLEAN UP OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND TEACH OUR CHILDREN HOW TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES, HOW TO RESPECT OTHERS, STOP THE VIOLENCE AND THE KILLING OF OUR CHILDREN. CLEAN UP YOUR OWN HOUSES BEFORE YOU TRY TO CLEAN SOMEONE ELSES. I AM TIRED OF ALL THE BLACK ON BLACK CRIME AND THE NEEDLESS SLAUGHTER OF OUR CHILDREN. TAKE ALL THE ELECTION ENERGY AND TOGETHERNES YOU CLAIM TO HAVE AND PUT IT TO GOOD USE THROUGHOUT THIS COUNTRY, STARTING IN THE PULPITS.

8. I wish Barack and his wife will continue to campaign
as they did in the beginning. Forget about the Clintions. Be the best they can be. Keep the Lord
on their side. Pray and do what is best for becoming
the best president the USA ever had and the best
representative to other countries that the world
has ever had. Barack I hope you will read the Bible
stories about David, Solomon and Mary the mother
of Jesus. Hold on to your Faith, for the Battle is
not your aong, it is the Lord with you.Good Luck
Barack and Michelle!

9. When it was Hussien Obama and Hillary Clinton. you blacks chose Obama because he is black, even though we don't known who this Obama was. He is unknown from nowhere forcing himself on us for president when we don't know him enough to form opinion.

Hypocrites now is in your favor Hussien Obama's wife, you brought out unpopularity.

Senator Mccain is gonna be the next president come November 08 and Cindy Mccain will be known very well. And believe me majority of Americans knows who Cindy Mccain is. She is from a wealthy family.

Roman at 4:37PM on Jul 2nd 2008

10. To Oldbad, you fell for the Clintons like most African Americans did. Bill Clinton an effective politican used other whites' racism against them to obtain the respect and loyalty of African Americans. Hey, it worked- it was that solid Black vote that sent him to the White House for two terms. When Sen. Obama came along and opposed his wife- Clinton thought he could still get that black vote because after all he was Bill Clinton - the first African American president and "Soul brother No. 2". When African Americans "dished" him and his wife, his true personalty came through (in SC - he made statements that took on a racial tone - likening Sen. Obama's campaign to the failed campaign of Rev. Jesse Jackson)!
He then for the remainder of the campaign took on his "Bubber" personalty to attract the white blue collar working class voters who historically disliked African Americans - mostly due to economic jealousy. So you tell me, isn't this enough of a reason for African Americans to now say - WE HAVE BEEN HAD! Clinton "pulled the wool over our eyes"- he is just like the whites that he sucessfully used to get African-American support and undivided loyalty.
As for black on black crime what has that to do with Bill Clinton's former popularity with African Americans? Sen. Obama should leave the CLINTONS alone and out of his campaign and hopefully administration. The Clintons are desparate and masters at manipulation - after all Bill Clinton manipulated an entire race of people - he would work circles around Sen. Obama!

11. Any one who can hear, speak, or see knows that Bill Clinton is not truly and admirer of Sen. Obama. He is not only not an admirer, he can't stand loosing to this Young Gifted, Intelligent Black man who has no Wealthy background at all. Good ole Billy is seathing inside and Ray Charles can see it and he is not only dead but was blind before okay. The one thing I would truely like to say is this. Because Mr. Clinton is/was so deceiving to the Black Americans he was supposed to have been representing who voted for him to get into the office of President. All of his chickens are now coming home to roost okay. I remember on his last day in White House when he was confronted by several of the outspoken Black male leaders; Mr. Clinton asked them what did he want him to do for them? This was Mr. Dick Gregory,Mr. Tavis Smiley, and some others; and they replied to him "why would you wait on the last day of your administration to ask us what we want you to do for us now?" So Mr. Clinton has always been in with the "Good ole Bohys!" He is for the Rich and Infamously Wealthy and that is where he is and alwasy has been. If he shows the least bit of sentiment for Mr. Obama he is a dead man especially after going over to the Pacific with George Hurbert Bush to analyze what and how they could prosper behind that tragedy okay. His lying and deception has finally caught up with him and trust me he has taken that smurky grin off his face now. And what I am going to say is this Whatever Net Any and All of You So-called Powereful have laid or spread out for Mr. Obama, I suggest you reconsider and quickly because if you don't let me remind you all of a passage in the bible; bk of Esther 7:9-10 where Haman built a Hanging Post for his foe Mordecai and ended up Hanging from it himself okay. So be very careful how you lay out nets and snares for Mr. Obama because I am 150% sure that you will be building them for yourselves. Mr. Clinton, Mr. Bush, Mr. Bush, Mr. Chenney and all the rest who are involved had better watch your backs because where I come from there has never been any honor among thieves okay. Mr. Obama GO GO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE AND WHEN YOU ARRIVE PLEASE DO ME A FAVOR AND RENAME IT THE BLACK HOUSE FOR A CHANGE OKAY?

Trudy Buck at 5:57PM on Jul 2nd 2008

12. I know enough of Mitchel Obama to give opinion that she is not a first lady material. No racist, name calling whitey and unproud america in the white house.

Hussien Obama was unknown to people enough to form opinion for president. We are beginning to know him and what we know so far are dangerious negatives to the country. Therefore is not presidential material. No Hussien in the white house.

Tesi at 6:28PM on Jul 2nd 2008

13. Oldbad is a white man with identity crisis.
What's with the "WE" & "You?"
Which one is it?

Jen at 6:28PM on Jul 2nd 2008

14. Tesi you make a perfect case for why we should all vote for Obama, you especially. See Obama is for education. He has pell grants and scholarship programs in his agenda. That would help you s-o-o-o much!
Think of all you can do with that? Go to school, I mean COLLEGE, you can learn to spell! Aren't you excited? May be miraculously you can go to Princeton & Havard then maybe you can remotely be in Michele Obama's league, then you can judge her, huh? Whatdo you think!
OK, OK I know I lost you at going to college part, just go vote bitch!

Jen at 6:45PM on Jul 2nd 2008

15. Why do white people come on BlackVoices for? They have the regular AOL where their racists rants about Obama are posted continually. This election has really made me dislike (almost hate) white people. They are so evil, behind closed doors and on their computers their inate racism comes out with such ease its alarming! YES WE CAN AND WE WILL!!! President Barack HUSSEIN Obama....get used to it for 8 years!!!!
