With a recession looming and gas prices rising out of control, I know that we are all looking for ways to save, and let's face it -- spend. No matter what happens with the economy, we are Americans, and shopping is a cultural experience. Microsoft has launched a search site that actually pays you cash back to shop at a variety of trusted retailers. That's right – cash. You can either shop online stores that are connected through their portal, or you can use the Live Search page to look on the general Web. The catch is that you must then look for search results bearing the "Live Search Cashback" button to get your rewards, if you use their general search page.
You can save 35% on "Live Search Cashback" items bought on Ebay, although only those items 1) found through Live Search, 2) slated as "Buy it now!, " and 3) purchased using PayPal. But that can all be easily arranged, for massive savings.
This seems like an extreme effort on the part of Microsoft to fight Google for search engine status, but these are tough times. Microsoft is just reading the winds, and putting its massive amount of money in the mouth of need.
Happy shopping and saving!
