In a segment on the 'Today Show' this week concerning the omnipresence of Barack Obama, an odd thing happened. When the show got to talking about Obama's musical influences, as written about in the new RollingStone, they showed Stevie Wonder and then Jay-Z.
Wait. That's not Jay-Z! The picture was in fact New Jersey rapper, Joe Budden ...
Now maybe it's just me, but Budden doesn't look like Jay-Z.
Is it so much to ask for a little more attention to detail? This little faux pas of course was overlooked because a large percentage of the 'Today Show' audience probably wouldn't be able to identify either of them, but the point still remains.
Maybe it was a simple mistake, but it just goes to show how important it is to check the facts, and then check them again. ... And then check them one more time. After all, Jay-Z is as mainstream and recognizable as they come and Joe Budden ... exactly.
Check out the mix-up around the 1:18 mark of the video

1. NBC is like all the other worthless network, they are all color blind.
