The Young & The Restless: Eva Marcille and Jamia Simone Nash Added

Today, CBS's long-running, award winning soap opera 'The Young and the Restless' will take on a bold and beautiful approach to its casting when Eva Marcille and Jamia Simone Nash join the cast.

Marcille, formerly known as Eva Pigford, is the winner of the third season of Tyra Banks' wildly popular modeling competition, 'America's Next Top Model.'

The former Cover Girl cosmetics spokesperson has been keeping active since winning the crown on the show; she's appeared in the films 'I Think I Love My Wife,' 'Crossover,' and 'Premium'; made cameo appearances on the TV series 'Kevin Hill,' 'Everybody Hates Chris,' 'Smallville' and Tyler Perry's 'House of Payne'; and hosted her very own reality talent competition ('My Model Looks Better Than Your Model').

The Los Angeles native's next project is a sci-fi action flick titled 'Super Capers,' which is currently in post production.

On 'Y&R,' the bronze beauty will play Tyra Hamilton -- the aunt of Devon Hamilton Winters -- who is a single mother to daughter Ana (played by Nash).

Devon, played by Daytime Emmy Award and NAACP Image Award winning actor Bryton McClure, is reunited with them at Lily's 21st birthday party. (See Clip Below)

Nash, who turns 12 years old this summer, has been making a name for herself for close to a decade – since she started out as the precocious tyke who wowed national audiences on television shows such as 'Good Morning America' and 'Showtime at the Apollo' singing Alicia Keys' signature song, 'Falling.'

A protégé of former Motown Records exec turned TV industry power player Suzanne de Passe, the Virginia Beach native performed on the '80th Annual Academy Awards' earlier this year – her feature film debut 'August Rush' was nominated for an Oscar for "Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song."

Nash also portrayed a young version of 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino in the ratings winning Lifetime Network biopic, 'Life Is Not A Fairytale.'

3. I'm so happy for Eva and Jamia. Though, she seems a little young to play mom to a 12 year old.

4. I was wondering who that women was on there today? She looks mature and didn't recognize her because of her hair? The girl Jamia sung good. Lilly on there turned 21 and she acted like that was her 5th Birthday! I really don't care too much for her part! I love that CAIN her man, though! Did you see the look Cain gave Eva? I think something is going to go down between the two of them? Watch? It's about time they start getting more black actors and actresses's up on there! That is my SHOW! No other Soap Opera can do it like "The Young & The Restless"!

10. How about Yaya,Eve's competiton. She is on 'All my Children' and has probably been work more as a Top Model than she, with all due respect.

Gene at 10:04AM on Jun 26th 2008

11. Congrats to them both. Both are talented young ladies. I believe Jamia is also the singing voice for Uniqua on my son's favorite show the Backyardigans. I wish them both the very best.

Nicia at 11:08AM on Jun 26th 2008

12. EVA WILL AND FOREVER BE THE NUMBER 1 AMERICA'S TOP MODEL TO ME . SHE SHOWED EVERYONE THAT SHE IS TRULY EVA THE DIVA. NOW IF SOMEONE TALKS JUNK AND CAN BACK IT UP THEN I HAVE MAD RESPECT FOR THEM . AND THIS YOUNG LADY DID THAT. NOONE ELSE HAS BEEN AS SUCCESSFUL AS EVA. WHO EVEN REMEMBERS THOSE OTHER WINNERS. SHE IS INDEED AMERICA'S TOP MODEL.

MZ-I-DONT-GIVE-A-DAMN at 11:24AM on Jun 26th 2008

13. I just realized today that the lady was Eva the Diva
she looks beautiful as always. "THE TOP MODEL"
Jamia can sing her but off.
Go ladies, best of luck.

barbara carr at 3:22PM on Jun 26th 2008

14. I am glad to see Eva on Y&R. After Victoria Rowell left they were seriously lacking some color. I don't count Lily.

Yolanda at 7:48PM on Jun 26th 2008

15. I am glad there is more black actress on the soaps also. You are right, Eva could stand more acting lessons...but I am glad there is some color on my favorite show. Y&R.
