The Shrine Auditorium sure was filled with black star power last night!

R&B soul legend, Al Green had everyone in the crowd on their feet two-stepping to his classic hits 'Let's Stay Together' followed by 'Love and Happiness.'

1. It was good to see the ladies of En Vogue on stage again, and Al Green's performance topped it off!

2. The show was pretty good... not as good as 2006's show, but it was good. I did get a bad jolt a couple of times when Keyshia Cole's rifts went sour... REAL sour. Seeing SWV, En Vogue and TLC was great... even though Coco seemed to be a little weak in the knees when she was trying to walk down the stairs. Let me stop. Good show, BET. I MAY start watching you again.

3. I was totally bored from the show.

cindy at 1:23PM on Jun 25th 2008

4. BET IS REALLY A STATION THAT EMBRACES IGNORANCE AND FOOLISHNESS. HOW DO CAN YOU SHINE A POSITIVE SPOTLIGHT ON THUGS AND LOW LIFES LIKE THAT IDIOT NAME LIL WAYNE? WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD LET THEIR CHILDREN BE AROUND PEOPLE LIKE THAT? BET NEED TO CLEAN UP THIER ACT AND START SHOWING AND SHINNING THE SPOT LIGHT ON POSITIVE PEOPLE.

DAC at 1:29PM on Jun 25th 2008

5. ANYTIME SOMEONE HONORS THUGS - LOW LIFES LIFE THAT IDIOT LILWAYNE, IT'S A PROBLEM. SHOW HONOR AND APPRECIATION FOR RESPECTFUL PEOPLE. BET SHOW SOME CLASS.

PAULA at 1:52PM on Jun 25th 2008

6. Once again Al Green proves that old school is not so old. I was so proud of the other artists singing along with Al just like those of us who were there back in the day. The Reverend Al Green ain't no joke. He's still got it. My kids didn't have a choice when they were smaller so they know all of Al's music and when they saw Luda & Diddy singing and dancing it let them know that us older folks might know a little somethin'.

Baphee at 2:00PM on Jun 25th 2008

7. Their show was way better than that elementary talent show last year.

I wish Alicia would have brought out Xscape. I wish there had been more singers for Al Green's tribute.

OMG, I had to rewind Chris Brown & Ciara's dancing.

Lil Wayne did good. I'm glad he won something. I think Wayne deserved the best male hip-hop award though.

They need to get rid of the Best Female Hip-Hop award because all the nominees were not relevant in 2007-2008 and/or garbage.

I also have a newfound respect for T-Pain. He did kill it. I really don't care for him, but he is on the grind.

Overall, loved the show.

Tiffany at 2:10PM on Jun 25th 2008

8. I don't know wat you are talking about, DAC. I thought the show was off the hook and the music was great. Lil' Wayne is a terrific artist and he isn't some convict looking to send subliminal messages to little kids to go sell dope and shoot your "wifeys" up and call them hoes.
I was a little disappointed with Rhianna's performance. Her singing was a little weak and I wish she would have moved around more, but all in all the show was amazing.
I have to admit my favourite part was when Chris Brown got down real low and was talking about, "Take U Down." Lord, I could have jumped off the couch and lapped at the screen, lmfao.
I would also like to say that I loved En Vogue, SWV, and TLC. It was great to see them all again together and singing.

9. Maxine Jones was pure hotness!!!!

Anre at 3:25PM on Jun 25th 2008

10. All I can Say is Maxwell!!!! That was the highlight of the night for me period. Loved Alicia Keys preformance. I was SOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED by Keyshia Cole and I usually love her.

Lou Lou at 3:34PM on Jun 25th 2008

11. the show last night was better than last year. A keys did wonderful w/ TLC, En Vogue, and SWV i was up singin w/ them. and i loved al green as usual and im lovin maxwell's new look. im glad kanye won the best male in hip hop award. keyshia cole's performance was horrible she was off and i love keyshia cole but not last night and lil kim looked nasty. FINALLY chris brown performed w/o lip singin. rihanna was good. loved marvin sapp not warren(lol). i have new found respect for lil wayne(as a man not a rapper)afta watchin da show. he still promotin gang violence w/ his red glove and scarf hangin out the right side. but overall good show.

queen at 3:48PM on Jun 25th 2008

12. The only good performance I liked was Al Green, Maxwell, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott was good too! I am glad that Al Green got a Lifetime Achievement Award"! He deserved it! If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't be singers here today! It was nice seeing Maxwell perform. He still has that sexy nice voice! I didn't like when Chris Brown came on stage with that RAUNCHY MESS! It was all in your face and I didn't APPRECIATE THAT and CIARA! INAPROPRIATE!

I got so sick and tired of seeing T-PAIN with that stupid "Tom Petty" hat! It was like he was on all through the show! He acted like that was his SHOW?Rick Ross should have kept a SHIRT on! Big Boy looked disguising to me! What was up with T-Boyz last night? Girlfriend like she was lost and on somethin? I was like, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? I didn't like the TLC, En Vogue, and SWV at all! Everybody tryin to make a come back! Riahna sung AWLFUL and her GOTH LOOKING DRESS didn't help either! We all waited for THAT! Keysha Cole's and Lil Kim was a HOT MESS! Keysha's voice was ALL OVER THE PLACE! PITCHY! Lil Kim made it worse with her screaming! I wonder what happened to MISSY? I think, she could have help saved the performance? I got tired of Keysha Cole's mom and sister sayin that's my BABY! so GHETTO and their outfits!

I was like, Ashanti better not get an award for that CONTRIVERSAL video! She should no better having a video like that! Giving the wrong impression to women that it's OK to kill your boyfriend and get revenge! PLEASE! No, I didn't like her SPIDER UGLY-LOOKING DRESS! Lauren London's Dress was a HOT MESS! Girlfriend's dress had no SUPPORT!

Lil Wayne and T-Pain was HORRIBLE! I don't understand how Lil Wayne is now a singer/guitar player/rapper? He is not a good performer and his lyrics are WACK! Lil Wayne, "Lolly Pop" That! NO I DON'T WANT TO LICK THE WRAPPER! But Milli, that's my song though! I only like the music!

What is up with Ms. Debra's clothes and her presentations? Every time she's on, she let's it all hang out? NO CLASS! That's my opinion. I am disappointed in BET AWARDS and BET PERIOD! You couldn't enjoy the show with all the BEEPS in it! I thought it was GHETTO, INNAPROPRIATE, and not CLASSY! In my opinion, BET has gone DOWNHILL!

"DimePiece" at 4:17PM on Jun 25th 2008

13. I agree with Lou Lou! MAXWELL!!!!!MAXWELL!!! Welcome back baby!!!! I missed you!!! RIP Pimp C!! I'm glad UGK FINALLY got the recognition they deserved. Too bad Pimp C had to be gone before he was able to see some appreciation!! And as Baphee said, I was one of those kids that was forced to listen to Al Green back in the day, and now that I'm grown I LOVE his music and still listen to this day. Al Green & Maxwell stole the show!!! MAXWELL!!!!!!!

Ms Nellie at 4:28PM on Jun 25th 2008

14. Anthony Hamilton is fine. I love his style,he keeps it simple

Elizabeth byrd at 5:26PM on Jun 25th 2008
