The Big Give: VOGUE For Obama, A-list For Cartier

There were two fabulous events held this week on both coasts attended by A-listers in the fashion, entertainment and politic worlds. Both had a focus of raising money for the Presidential campaign and several charities. This week was all about The Big Give.

In New York a two-part fundraiser was held for Barack Obama on Tuesday thrown by VOGUE magazine. It was hosted by fashion designer Calvin Klein and VOGUE editors Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley. Likely First Lady Michelle Obama, who was recently dubbed the new "It Girl" by VOGUE and considered the "new Jackie O" for her chic style, made an appearance and bowled the audience over with her great speech and witty personality. The first event cost $1,000 a ticket and the second, which allowed guests to dine at Klein's home for $10,000 per ticket was attended by Spike Lee and wife Tonya Lee, Lebron James, LL Cool J and his wife Simone, socialites and fashion designers including Zac Posen, Tory Burch and Isaac Mizrahi. Obama wore an impressive isabel Toledo outfit that won rave reviews by the high society and fashion set. The next day she co-hosted on The View and has impressed media critics for the appearance as well. Lady O is totally workin' it.

Wednesday night was poppin' on the West Coast. Cartier threw an A-list event in honor of their third annual Love Day, which was June 19. Celebrities whom Cartier dubbed their ambassadors, had them design a Love Charity bracelet. Proceeds from the bracelet's purchase goes directly to the charity of the ambassador's choice. This year's ambassador-cum-jewelry designer sincluded Janet Jackson, Fergie, Eve, Common, Ashanti and Hilary Duff to name a few. Past ambassadors included Kimora Lee's man Djimon Honsou who came with Lee, Spike Lee and Salma Hayek.

The word Love is engraved on the bracelet and set on a silk cord in a color of each ambassador's choice. Janet's which is in gunmetal, will benefit the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Eve's peach version will support Women in Transition and Common's khaki one supports his Common Ground Foundation. On Love Day, 10 percent of all sales benefit the designated organizations.

The Love Charity bracelet is $995 with $200 per bracelet going directly to the designated charity. They're available at Cartier boutiques nationwide.

3. This is what Mr.Wright was talking about. Give you white people enough time, you are going to call Mr.Obama and his wife Michelle more than buckwheat. America's dirty underwear is begining to show again. Then when someone like Mr.Wright put it in your face. You start crying. "America, I thought we got pass that". Well...Any way you a***h. Mrs. Michelle Obama looked great!. Amercia!, You better get ready. A CHANGE is coming. And CHANGE do'nt fell good. Virba9

4. "Lady O" (I like it!) is the most intelligent, elegant, beautiful, stylish, vibrant (and if I may digress), straight up "FINE" woman I have ever seen. She is indeed the total package. The lady possesses a regal presence, albeit with the carriage and sensibilities of the common woman. To Senator Obama: Any man who could win the heart of such a Queen gets serious consideration for my vote. You Go "Lady O"
