Clinton Endorses Obama, 14 Times To Be Exact

Posted Jun 8th 2008 6:00PM by Faye Anderson
Filed under: BlackSpin, Elections, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton

You can go home again. With her gracious concession speech, Hillary Clinton was welcomed back into the Democratic fold.

Thousands of Clinton supporters gathered in the historic National Building Museum on Saturday and heard her say:

Well, this isn't exactly the party I planned, but I sure like the company.

Still, Clinton partied like it was 1999 1993 (and 1997) and showed that you can get a second chance to strut your stuff:
To all those who voted for me, and to whom I pledged my utmost, my commitment to you and to the progress we seek is unyielding. You have inspired and touched me with the stories of the joys and sorrows that make up the fabric of our lives and you have humbled me with your commitment to our country.

Eighteen million of you from all walks of life – women and men, young and old, Latino and Asian, African-American and Caucasian, rich, poor and middle class, gay and straight – you have stood strong with me. And I will continue to stand strong with you, every time, every place, and every way that I can. The dreams we share are worth fighting for.
Clinton then said the words Barack Obama waited to hear:
I endorse him, and throw my full support behind him. And I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me.
In fact, she said his name a whopping 14 times during her 30 minute speech. Clinton's full-throated endorsement of Obama was the epilogue to a dramatic primary season. But the drama isn't over: Obama must now win over her supporters.

And what do Clinton voters want? They want R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Borrowing a tactic from black voters, their message to Obama: If you don't respect us, don't expect us.

So Obama can expect to spend a lot of time wooing Clinton supporters. To paraphrase Elmore James, don't send no text message or "Thank you, Hillary" note. Obama needs to reach out to them "person to person."

A first step: Ask for their vote.

1. Hillary Clinton needs to talk to her racist and sexist supporters, not Obama. If you notice she did not attacks McCain or defends Obama against his remarks him.

Obama showed her some love and respect despite her mudslinging and racist campaing. She and her flock have become sour losers. I suggest that they pressuer McCain to put her on his ticket or convince her to run as independent (with Bob Johnson as her VP). She's just destroying the Democratic party.

2. The Clinton's as usual "DIRTY TRICKS" to sabotage the
presumed Nominee Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. With the Clinton's you can expect just about anything during this time and the time of the Democratic Convention.

Instead of Bill Clinton endorcing Obama and saying that he would campaign for him, he said he was going back to work, LOL, now if Hillary was the presumed nominee and Obama said that it would be talked about on every news network over and over again, as in the Wrights situation.

Many say that the media was against Hillary, no I disagree Sean Hannity, Bill O'really, and Rush Limbaugh did a hit job on Obama and it did not work out in the end.

I wish the Clinton's well, but I am a witness what goes around comes back around. They played dirty during the race up until the nomination and have lost a lot of respect from those of us who would have voted for Hillary if had not be alianated.

3. GREAT, FABULIOUS, AWESOME, SUPER AND UNRIVAL SPEECH MADE BY SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON.
SORRY SENATOR HILLARY, WE YOUR SUPPORTERS ARE SORRY TO DISOBEY YOU.
THEY WILL PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID TO YOU AND FOR STEALING THIS NOMINATION FROM YOU.
YOU WON THE MOST POPULAR VOTES AND MOST OF THE BATTLEGROUND STATES WHICH WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU A VICTORY IN NOVEMBER ELECTION, BUT THEY WANT YOU OUT SO THEY CAN NOMINATE THIS UNKNOWN INEXPERIENCE FRESHMAN SENATOR BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA WHO BOUGHT THEM.

WE ARE VOTING SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN NOTHING WILL SWAY OR CHANGE OUR MIND. CONGRATULATION PRESIDENT MCCAIN.

SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON WE HOPE YOU COME BACK IN 2012.

DARYLE at 8:44AM on Jun 10th 2008

4. LEAVE THE CLINTONS ALONE
Senator Hillary Clinton is not running for presidency this time. She is not Obama's opponent, So, leave her and her family alone.
Let your focus be on Senator John Mccain if you can. He is the one in the fighting race with Obama.

SAMU at 8:48AM on Jun 10th 2008

5. #3 You have no vision. You and others like you didn't really support Hillary other than the chance to get a woman in office. What a blow to women's rights. But you have to think beyond that. Do you know McCain's policies? Is he proven? NO ONE can prove they can be a good President until they become President. I mean George W Bush's tenure as Governor didn't seem to help him as office of President. Don't get so caught up in emotion that you don't use common sense. McCain is still caught up in the Viet Nam War. He is in dire need of anger management counseling. Before you make that final decision to vote for McCain, please do some research on McCain. Watch the You Tube videos on him, which are not just soundbites. Watch him in town meetings, watch him in senate sub committee hearings. He is loose cannon in the worst way.

JAZZMAN11 at 9:44AM on Jun 10th 2008

6. It's a damn shame, if you are a Democrate then you are, since Hillary lost ( numerous times ) and Obama has fought all the smears and dirty attacks from media and Hillary camp, he still stands tall and WON. So if you are a Democrate, show ur honor and suuport and VOTE for democrate in Novemeber. If you are Bitter because Obama is the NOMONEE, then you were not a honest Democratic supported from the beginning, just like Hilliary deviding the party, that's not fair of honest. CM Philly

cedric at 9:51AM on Jun 10th 2008

7. I support you Samu. They should stop the attack on the Clintons. Senator Obama should pick a running mate and go out there with him to fight Senator Mccain.

If he is looking to Senator Hillary to get him the presidency then he is not worthy of the nomination.

If Obama supporters wants to fight, fight us the Hillary supporters and we say to you bring it on. We are ready.

we are voting for Mccain. SEnator Hillary Clinton can not tell us what to do. PAYBACK TIME.

9. It's amazing to me that people would vote for John McCain to keep from voting for a black man!!!! How ignorant is that??? For those of you who have loved ones in Iraq, my suggestion is for you to go ahead and make their funeral arrangements. If John McCain is elected your loved one will die a horrible and in vain death in Iraq!!!!! Please vote with common sense and not your feelings. We desperately need change. This economy sucks and we are heading for a recession despite what Bush says. Nothing that is happening in this economy affects him directly and besides his head is the sand!!!!! I know some of you may not like what I have to say, but this is my opinion and personally I don't care!!!!!!!!!

"Tired of ignorant people"

Tee at 10:10AM on Jun 10th 2008

10. For those people Clinton's supporters who will not vote Democratic then you was never a Democratic in the first place. This November election is bigger then the parties, it is about a change. We are tired of the way things have been going for the last 8 years. If you vote for Senator McCain you are asking for 4 more years of the same thing we are in now. So it is not about how you personally feel about Sen. Obama it is about the people who are tired of the wealthy getting richer and everybody else barely surviving.

Michael at 10:47AM on Jun 10th 2008

11. These people who will not vote for Obama now, would not have voted for him if he was running against a chicken. Obama supporters get a grip and help register
real Democrats so in November we can say, Yes we can,
and yes we did.

still standing at 11:08AM on Jun 10th 2008

12. Voting for McCain because Obama is black, knowing who's the best canidate for the job. Even when the country is on its knees right now. Sad, sad, sad.

LAWDHAVMURCY at 11:30AM on Jun 10th 2008

13. First of all may I say that this is one of the more civil boards on this subject I have seen recently. Jazzman, to claim that folks who voted for HRC only because she is a woman is as problematic as saying that folks voted for Obama because he was black (now who would do that???!). There are a number of folks who did choose to vote identity(black, woman, etc.)but there were a number of us who simply voted on who we thought was best to run the country. For some of us (18 million) that was HRC.

We are "real democrats' and are concerned that if we have a failed democratic presidency that is too far from the left (ala Jimmy Carter) we will lose the White House for another 20 years. Therefore our concern is with the direction of the party. Will we be the party of MoveON.org (let's see, they have been real successful at killing democratic chances-despite having great ads) or the party of the DLC (pragmatic, centralists of Clinton, Harold Ford, and Jim Webb)?

So our refusal to vote for Mr. Obama is indeed in keeping with some of the more influential aspects of the Democratic Party's history--the right to say 'we disagree'.

Re at 3:00PM on Jun 10th 2008

14. I was a Clinton supporter. I think Obama is an idiot - not because he's black, but because he comes off as a useless preacher - one that has no experience and is just 'preaching' about change. I think McCain's experience makes him a better choice at this time - and a lot of Clinton supporters agree with this. Too bad Obama didn't concede for the love of his party - I think Hilary had a better chance of beating McCain. We can blame Obama in November for another Republican president.

Pokey at 3:54PM on Jun 10th 2008

15. Good girl Hilary, You fought a good figth but you loss is that a good thing or bad thing. We hope for good. Thank you very much for backing obama he all we got now. mCcain will only hurt all of us no matter what color or race. He is bush all over again.
Bush thinks he did something right by giving those rebates. HE STILL SCREWED THE COUNTRY.
