Even though Shaun Alexander is no longer the running back for the Seattle Seahawks, he's still active in the city's community. Alexander announced that his foundation will be giving $20,000 worth of clothes and athletic gear to three nonprofit youth-based organizations in the Seattle area.
"Growing up I had the benefit of a strong family helping me find my way, but many kids today don't have that advantage," Alexander said. "These three very worthy organizations do phenomenal work to help our youth develop into strong adults, and anything my foundation can do to help them in their mission is a worthy investment."
The organizations, Zion Preparatory Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will receive a bunch of Nike clothes and athletic gear with hopes of inspiring local youth to reach their full potential and in turn become role models and mentors for the next generation. 1. I am very happy to see 'positive press' regarding an athelete. There are some good people in this world, I hope that the press will focus more on the positive.
