Sean Patrick Thomas: Brand New Daddy

Posted May 19th 2008 7:43PM by Karu F. Daniels
Filed under: Entertainment Newswire

By Karu F. Daniels, BlackVoices.com

Sean Patrick Thomas will have a reason to celebrate this coming Father's Day.

The 'Save the Last Dance actor' and his wife Aonika have welcomed a girl into the world last weekend.

Named Lola Jolie, the bouncing baby girl weighed in at exactly 7 lbs., on May 16 at 7:29 p.m.

"Now I have two gorgeous girls to love," said the joyful dad, who was most recently seen in 'A Raisin in the Sun' (now on DVD).

The 37-year-old actor married Aonika Laurent, an actress, in New Orleans in 2006.

1. Congrats to the young man. He's got huge challenges ahead.
Especially since it's a girl. So glad I've got a mini me who's content to have his head clipped low and dress to match daddy. (or vice versa)

Problem: my four year old is mimmicking the guys at the 'hood gym who wear their basketball shorts down around their thighs during pickup games. He's become a great dribbler just by watching them, but the shorts part irks me to no end.

Pity the daddies out there who have to monitor and overrule the fashion choices their little girls may make.

That's one guy that shows the potential to be a positive role model. Let's wish him all the best.
