Notable/Quotable:Syesha Mercado

"I'm a mix of a lot of things ... I'm like a black Christina Aguilera ... I definitely can see myself putting together a Christina Aguilera album, the one that she just recently did and an Alicia Keys album like The Diary of Alicia Keys. I like Pop and I like R&B and I like the old school, new school thing so I'm growing as an artist, I'm evolving ... You'll know who I am once I put out that album."

-- 'American Idol' cast-off Syesha Mercado commenting on musical identity. (People)

1. I had read that David Cook,s song was the number one download on i-tube, so he doesn't need it. Why did they have to put that weave on her???? Now she looks like all the other girls. Her afro was great. She will be able to make her own deal with a record company instead of being tied down to a contract with american idol. good luck girl

2. Love her, love her, love her... She will do great, she just has to become a little more modest!

Cate at 8:12PM on May 16th 2008

3. She has a pretty voice but she is no where near christina Aguilera..not even a black version..in that case you would still be in the running for american idol...sorry sista!!!

JASMINE at 8:12PM on May 16th 2008

4. I can't believe Syesha compared herself to X-tina! If she ever does record maybe then she'll hear all of the off-key notes she sings!

What a dingbat!

Pat at 8:22PM on May 16th 2008

5. syesha really shouldnt compare herself to other aritsts if she wants to be successful. if she is like christina aguilera or alicia keys y would i buy her album i would just listen to them. they both are one in a million and she is someone that got kicked off of american idol. thats it

amanda at 8:22PM on May 16th 2008

6. her voice is nice. give her a chance, we need some new female singers.

kiss at 8:29PM on May 16th 2008

7. YOU GET ENOUGH VOTES, YOU STAY ON. YOU DON'T YOU GO HOME. WHAT'S SO HARD ABOUT THAT?????????????

billy bob at 8:38PM on May 16th 2008

8. Christina IS the Black Christina Aguilera. Is she for real? I haven't seen Seyesha, but I highly doubt that she can blow like Christina. That is one singing child. Christina's talent has surpassed most r&b singers of this era.

9. YOU GET ENOUGH VOTES, YOU STAY ON. YOU DON'T YOU GO HOME. WHAT'S SO HARD ABOUT THAT?????????????

billy bob at 8:39PM on May 16th 2008

10. This Siesha is such a LOSER. She is so TYPICAL of 98% of today's so-called artists. They have NO...ZERO...originality. Her comments about being like Christina A. or Alicia Keyes are her admission that she wants to copy (IMITATE) them. There is NOTHING "Original" about this person. She will be just another one in a LONG line of Forgettable IMITATORS.

bogino at 8:41PM on May 16th 2008

11. LITTLE WHINNY ARCHULETA NEEDS TO GO HOME NEXT WEEK !!!!!!!!!!!

billy bob at 8:43PM on May 16th 2008

12. Yes, let's not make the winner the best one. You know? The one who doesn't need it because he is the best one on the show and everyone is mad because he is going to win because he's the best. He doesn't need it but that doesn't mean he shouldn't win. By saying he doesn't need it is like admitting he is the best

Jaysix at 8:46PM on May 16th 2008

13. N*gga PLEASE! She ain't sh*t!

mikorrel at 8:46PM on May 16th 2008

14. I always thought Syesha acted a little fake. I didn't really get to know the real her until the last night when I saw her in her hometown. Very sad!

Brandy at 8:47PM on May 16th 2008

15. I really liked Syesha. Good voice, good control. Unfortunately, that was it: just good. Nothing about her screamed superstar or "it" to me. There was just nothing special about her voice or performances in my eyes.

I hope David Archuleta wins. This is a singing competition, and he has the best singing voice.
