Janet, Eva Longoria Parker & Eve : Love It or Leave It?

Posted May 15th 2008 4:56PM by Sonya Magett
Filed under: Style Spotter

The red carpet was more of a runway this week for celebs who served style for the masses. From Los Angeles to London to France, severals stunners including Janet Jackson, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, Eve and Joy Bryant showed up in (dare we say it?) 'copy me' or 'don't copy' me looks. Attention-grabbing in their bold-bright hues, animal prints and limited-edition numbers, it was certainly the sistas that were the highlight of the week. There was quite a stir in Los Angeles Tuesday night when British fashion designer Alexander McQueen opened his first store there. The opening, which was highly anticipated by Hollywood starlets who covet his super high-end-never imitated-designs, was attended by West Coast residents Janet Jackson, Eve, Joy Bryant and Sex and The City hunk Jason Lewis, to name a few. It was acknowledged that the crowd gasped when Janet arrived in her custom McQueen kimono.

Did it leave you breathless? Would you love or leave this look?

At the McQueen event Eve impressed with her limited-edition British flag clutch. Only 17 were made for a hefty price tag of $2,000. The dress? Not so impressive.

Recently engaged actress Joy Bryant was not her usual demure self in a strapless animal-print dress.

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria stood out in her Atelier Versace (that's couture to you fashion newbies) she wore in France for the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

Tell us which looks do you love or which would you leave?

1. Well Janet is beautiful but that kimona looks like one of her concert costumes. Eve looks rather regular. Joy looks tired and Eva looks radiant and happy to be of the "a" class celebrity status.

I'd try some Sexy Butt Coutouring jeans found on: www.blingdivastore.com to give a more put together look. I would rock these jeans with heels or sandles.

3. I think Janet and Eva look incredible, the rest are alright I guess, pretty boring outfits

4. I love Janet but, that dress and the color I wasn't feelin it. Eve's dress was a PLAIN JANE LOOK with a small ugly British purse. The purse did not help the dress. Is it just me, Eve looks like she is expecting? She is GLOWING and SHOWING in my eyes.

That animal print dress that Joy wore, looked like she grabbed some material and pinned it together. Joy looked like she just WOKE UP! Where is your Make-up, Fashion, and Hair Stylist, Joy? Eva, don't care to much for her but liked the blue-satin chiffon dress.

5. I love the way the dress goes from Red to Purple. Her Stylist is off the meter this year.

7. The people who respond to fashion posts never have the fashion perspective as their reference point.

Alexander McQueen has an almost avant-garde fashion outlook and cannot be regarded with the same lens as one regards common place design. Janet is rockin' that kimono like the fashion queen that she is. Joy and Eve are also cutting edge with their night life, high end edgy looks.

They are fitting right in with the european thing that is going on at that event.

9. Janet Jackson ALWAYS looks good, Eva Longoria is pretty to me, and the dress she has on is perfect for her body and her skin tone. Eve's dress is pretty, just a little bit on the plain side though.
