Carmelo Anthony Gets His 'Way' on BET J

Posted Apr 25th 2008 11:00AM by Quibian Salazar-Moreno
Filed under: Casually Obsessed

The Lakers sure swept Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets out of the playoffs, but you can still enjoy watching Carmelo all summer long. The All-Star forward has scored a reality show on BET J called "Carmelo's Way."

The show follows Melo for about four months during his offseason training as well as showing him participating in community events and walking around in his old neighborhood. Expect to see appearances from Melo's homies LeBron James, Allen Iverson and other family and friends. Check out the show's trailer below:

1. I'd call Carmelo's show "Traveling." He got to take 12 steps before he'd ever get a TV show from me. Is this a slam dunk or what? How can we keep uplifting bad behavior? Let him get a chauffer too.

2. It makes me so proud to see our young brothers being so successful...Mr. Anthony is all of 24 years old! Just a baby, by many of our standards.

Nowadays, the choices our young people have are many - and a large majority of those choices are negative and self-destructive. I commend him for taking the high road.

Of course, I can only imagine the pressures that come w/that type of success and I hope that there are leaders and mentors standing on the sidelines ready to spring into action, by giving the best advice when needed or giving guidance when necessary.

Much love to you, young man...and much continued success!

5. Congrats 2 u Melo. The Cuse is on your side. Keep doin thangs make your family proud and sometimes think things out before u do them. Understand you are a young Black Man so NO matter what u will be looked at and judged. You have done a positive job so keep up the good work. Let my child have a positive outlook on somebody from Syracuse where my son is growing up.

9. I'm so sick of everybody getting reality shows! What REAL about it? Half the stuff is pre-planned and scripted. Come on Melo, work on your game and cut out the extra b.s., don't you make enough money!

10. Can this guy get a show telling him to stop being a thug and try to be a Professional Basketball Player? How do you get a DWI in Denver? Stay inside if the weather is bad. And you get a DWI before the playoffs. STU-P-I-D.

11. #1 is right. When you have money you need to be driven around. But these people have to show off a car and rims. The Police are just waiting for one small turn of the wheel and they are stopped. They just don't get it. A policeman makes $40,000 dollars and the Ball player or Rapper has $40 million. Your tag is read and you are going to get stopped. You help the Police when you have a gun and drugs in the car. You made their year. You gave the police braggin rights with the other Policemen. Pay one of your gang members to drive you around. And try to get one of your gang member that does not do drugs or drink. Now that is a true task. Finding a gang member that does not drink and do drugs. What was I thinking?
