I love when high-end designers unite with affordable retail chains. When Gap worked with Pierre Hardy, I snagged a pair of cute silver sandals! When Proenza Schoular created a line for Target, I waited 2 hours in the overly crowded store to cop a few of their adorable spring dresses. And now to my funkadelic delight design company Marimekko has teamed with H&M!

Marimekko launched in Finland in 1951 and became ever so popular when former first lady Jackie Kennedy wore a number of cotton print dresses during her husband's 1960 presidential campaign.
One could imagine how fabulous Ms. Kennedy appeared in a trendy Marimekko dress. The line shouts of color and patterns of swirls will amuse the grumpiest fashionista! The collection is comprised of 70 pieces for women, men and children and includes not only clothing, but bags, jewelry and other accessories.

The H&M/Marimekko designs are so in tuned with this summer's carefree, simple but sophisticated attitude that you need to read the last line of this blog, grab a pair of flats and hustle over to the nearest H&M!

1. I wouldn't call these designers "High end Designers" but more so, "The End Designers". I'm not feelin any of this! This type of fashion needs to be put back into the ATTIC! I'm not buying it!
