Meagan Good And Idris Elba To Star In Supernatural Thriller 'Unborn'

Posted Mar 7th 2008 8:34AM by Wilson Morales
Filed under: It's All Reel

It must be difficult being the hardest working man in the business. Not everyone can be Samuel L. Jackson and have like three to four films released in one year, but Idris Elba is making one hell of an effort to be in that same group. Not only does Elba have the remake of 'Prom Night' coming out soon, he also has 'RocknRolla', which was directed by Guy Ritchie, slated for a 2008 release and recently completed film 'The Human Contract' for Director Jada Pinkett-Smith. Elba just signed on to do a film with 'Obsessed' with Beyonce, and now will join Meagan Good in the supernatural thriller 'Unborn'

According to Variety, Carla Gugino, Jane Alexander, and Rhys Coiro are also joining a rabbinical Gary Oldman and a haunted Odette Yustman in the film.

Platinum Dunes' Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are producing writer-director David Goyer's tale of a girl (Yustman) tormented by the soul of a boy who died in the Holocaust.

Good ('The Love Guru') will play the girl's best friend, and Gugino ("Spy Kids") has been cast as her mother. Alexander will play a Holocaust survivor whose brother's spirit is returning.

Elba ('American Gangster') will play a priest who helps Rabbi Oldman perform exorcisms. Coiro (HBO's 'Entourage') is the college professor of Yustman's character, and Cam Gigandet will play her boyfriend.

Principal photography begins March 5 in Chicago

2. It's great when actors start getting work, so that they can show off their talent and earn money in the process, but the roles that they accept have to be right for them. Beyonce works better in dramas, and the film should not be classified as a thriller because that is all wrong. It should be a drama, and the character should progress naturally into the obsession exhibiting some talent or inspiration or something.
