Don't you love when someone has a cute idea, the money and the connects to make it happen, but rather than sit back and siphon off of daddy's coins, decide to strike out on their very own?
Well, the Simmons sisters Vanessa and Angela, daughters of Rev. Run of Run DMC fame, and stars of MTV's 'Run's House,' did exactly that -- they made it happen for themselves.
After launching Pastry Footwear in March 2007 under dad's sneaker company Run Athletics, this spring the adorable siblings are releasing not only their third footwear collection but Pastry clothing and handbags as well.
Its safe to assume that it's geared toward their fans, the 14-25 year old set. Oh, and the cougar gal trying to impress her much younger man (haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay)
Believe it or not, there are a few items that can be worn by women outside fhis age group such as the stretch charmeuse tops, satin and spandex dresses for the cellulite-free and embroidered denim.
The handbags come in variety of styles including the messenger, hobo, bowling and duffle bags. The funky prints are so fun it kind of reminds me of Gwen Stefani's Harajuko Lovers line.
Recently the inseparable sister act made a move to LA so I have a few words of advice for them:
DO wear your clothing line to events. It would be a disservice to your fans to not see you wear your own brand. Too many delebrities have done this and wonder why their fans don't support them anymore. Create custom items if you have to.
DON'T get Unfitney on us! The arrests, and awful vices are not a good look to the Simmons bloodline. Your daddy raised you better than that. Keep up that good, sweet image you have. We love it.
