Hair Looks: Condoleezza Rice

Posted Jan 30th 2008 9:40AM by Angela Bronner

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, one of the most prominent, and brilliant (Phi Beta Kappa, concert pianist, college president, board of Chevron, fluent in Russian, U.S. National Security advisor was her last job) women in the world today -- doesn't stray too far from her baseline bob.

As befits her job, TRULY jet setter status, Condi keeps her hair pretty simple -- her accessories include smart suits and her ubiquitous pearls. This Birmingham Alabama native and PK (preacher's kid) also wears her make-up fairly simple, with a hint of eyeliner and some shade of red lip. How many ways to wear the bob? Let us count the ways...

1. Condoleezza and Tyra are two different people. Ms. Rice sports her own hair as plain as it may be accommodates her. Looks great to me cause it is real.

Ms. Banks sports weaves, wigs etc. She is a super model and is looked upon to look just like that. To me it's phony if it ain't you. Be herself, wear her own hair and see how may styles she can create.

2. CONDOLEEZZA RICE would of made a much better president than the republicans running now. would of been cool to see her and Mccain versus Obama and Clinton. Obamao8!!!!!!!!!!!

Nick at 9:23AM on Feb 1st 2008

3. Although I don't usually agree with Ms. Rice's politics I greatly respect her as an African-American woman for all that she has accomplished and for all she is to the world. However, do I really care about her hair? As Black Voices there are so many other things that could and quite possibly should be high-lighted about Ms. Rice. What next, her marital status? The flip of Michele Obama (similar to Condi's former style) Come on. . . we're more than hair and fashion. A little more support and emphasis on other things, please. . . .

Cheryl at 9:28AM on Feb 1st 2008

4. Too bad Dr. Rice (Condi?? personally, I don't LIKE that nickname)is not running for president! With HER brains (yes, and even LOOKS) and everything she IS, she is the only one I would (ever)vote for President!
Re: Her hair...momentarily, forget the cosmetic aspect!

5. I'm going to be perfectly honest. I love Condi she's an exemplary figure of black dignity, integrity, poise, wisdom, and character to say the least....but sweetie...when you are this much in the worldwide public eye you must not sport the kuk-a-bugs, wear either a salon-finished afro, or put a relaxer at least on them edges PLEASE.

Cookie at 9:52AM on Feb 1st 2008

6. Condolezza Rice is one of the most brilliant, productive, beautiful, and strongest(mentally and intellectually)woman on the planet. We need to embrace, protect, and immulate her from the boardrooms to the classroom and even the raising of our children. Ms. Rice deserves a grand applause because she has risen above the levels where the average man (regardless of race)could only dream of going. In essence, she makes us proud. Welcome her home and into your homes as she completes her term as SECRETARY OF STATE. Wow! What a woman. She is what brothers with anything going for themselves whisper (under their breath)...THAT SISTER IS FINE!!!!

Terry Miller at 10:46AM on Feb 1st 2008

7. I respect Ms. Rice for her intellectual abilities and position as well; however, I do not agree with her politics as I am often sicken with her denial of real world realities insofar as geopolitical matters. She will say the "the world is square" if George W. Bush suggest. Loyality is a great asset especially within high levels of government, but she pushes the limit. Following the current president's lead landed Former Secertary Of State Powell in a precarious situation. One can only speculate why she too has not been in a similar situation.??

dave at 11:12AM on Feb 1st 2008

8. I love Dr. Rice for many reasons but, especially for the fact that she sheds a positive light on Black feminity as opposed to the images displayed on BET. I also admire the fact that she never allowed the naysayers and bucket crabs within our race to phase her.

Thank you Dr Rice for rising above the fray and for letting people realize that a ghetto pass isn't necessary to succeed in America.

Natalie at 11:42AM on Feb 1st 2008

9. Has anyone noticed that Obama's wife hairdo is much like Condi's hairstyle. Reserved is one thing but when you're in the political forefront I would think or better yet rethink the hair.

DO NOT KNOW at 11:58AM on Feb 1st 2008

10. Condoleeza Rice for President! Too bad she's not running!

Veteran at 12:06PM on Feb 1st 2008

11. ms Rice, is an extraordinary women of politics. due to her upbringing the issues she's faced i feel she stays strong as african - american and remembers her roots in which she came from. as for her hair i think it fits her in any style or attitude she feels she's truly a gorgeous woman in my eye and wish she was running against hiliary!!!!!!!

marcus at 12:26PM on Feb 1st 2008

12. Terry #6 and Marcus #10 I could not agree with you more. The position that this sister is in and the things that this sister has seen we could not even imagine in our wildest dreams. This women is heavy. And to me to see a women carry sooooo much beleive me, the last thing she has to concern herself with is her hair. The fact that she is not phony or vain points to the fact that she is not into weaves. The fact that she is dealing with the world, whole world not just our small fraction of the world she doesn't wear an afro or anything close to that. Terry, I am probably one of the only brothers that say out loud to all of my other brotheren about how fine I think this sister is. Out of all the models, singers, dancers, should have beens, and wantabees. If I can spend an hour with any women in this world (of course besides my wife)to just have an inteligent conversation with it would only be Ms. Rice.

Magoo at 12:50PM on Feb 1st 2008

13. Some people are so ignorat her hair is fine, Ms. Rice is in a business world, a for real buisness world and she isn't living ghetto fab, where you have all the differnt colors of hair, add on's ect. You can't find any thing better to do than to pick on her hair.

She deals with countries to do not accepct women in high places so her humbleness in her field is appreciated, you people need to get it togehter.

Mr. Rice, hey your hair is just fine these people need to get a life, and get out of yours.

this needs to be said at 1:16PM on Feb 1st 2008

14. IS MS. CONDOLEEZZA RICE A REAL HUMAN BECAUSE HER EYES LOOK DEAD IS SHE FROM THIS PLANET.. HELL WITH HER HAIR.BLACK OR WHITE SHE LOOK JACKUP.

Rabiyah at 1:25PM on Feb 1st 2008

15. I think her hair looks fine-- neat, polished and professional. But, her facial expression looks devoid of inner peace or happiness. If I knew her personally I'd seek out a way to turn that upside down smile right side up. Life is too short to go around with that stern looking facade she presents, literally,to the world.
