Pacman Jones, We Missed You

Posted Jan 15th 2008 12:54PM by Cheryl Thompson
Filed under: Casually Obsessed

After NFL commish Roger Goodell handed a one-year suspension to Pacman Jones, you would think our favorite making it rain cornerback would've found a way to be on his best behavior.

Perhaps helping the homeless, aiding the elderly, possibly a few bible study sessions, no? You would think, but Pacman chose to go another route while passing his non-employed time:

WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that Titans cornerback Pacman Jones allegedly punched a woman on January 3 in a North Atlanta strip club.

And the woman whom he punched is a lawyer.

The incident allegedly happened on January 3. The lawyer, Wanda Jackson, alleges that Jones entered a manager's office, accusing the club among other things of stealing money from him. She says that, during the meeting, Jones lunged at her several times. She also alleges that, in a hallway after the meeting, he reached around a security guard and punched her.

Now before you ask the logical question of why was a lawyer at a strip club, and it is a good question indeed, one has to inquire if Pacman will ever live a life without trouble from strip clubs and lawyers.

1. The lawyer was more than likely there because the club probably DID steal money from Pacman, amongst others, so they had to seek legal counsel. But if he did punch her in the face, then he is a coward. Why can't these black guys with money find something better to do with their time? Are titty bars all they know? I know white celebrities act out too, but we're not talking about them right now. He's an embarassment to our race.

10. AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM

THIS IS A GROWN MAN'
WHAT DOES HIS PARENTS HAVE TO DO WITH THE BAD DECISIONS THIS MAN IS MAKING AS AN ADULT.

YOU CANNOT BLAME THE PARENTS FOR HIS ADULT BEHAVIOR, ESPECIALLY WHEN AS AN ADULT - HE HAS BEEN AROUND NEGATIVE PEOPLE AS THOSE IN THE STREETS, OTHER BALL PLAYERS WHO UNDOUBTABLY ARE ALSO BAD.

WE DO NOT KNOW HOW HIS PARETNS RAISED HIM, NOR CAN WE ASSUME THAT THE PARENTS DID A BAD JOB OF PARENTING SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE THINGS MR. JONES HAS DONE AS AN ADULT.

AS A PARENT, YOU CAN ONLY GUIDE THE YOUTH AND YOU HOPE AND PRAY THAT WHAT YOU TEACH THEM GETS CARRIED THROUGH TO THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
UNFORTUNATELY, THAT USUALLY NEVER HAPPENS.

PARENTS DO THE BEST THEY CAN TO STEER CHILDREN IN THE RIGHT DIRECTIONS, HOWEVER ONCE YOU ARE GROWN - IT IS NO LONGER YOUR PARENTS FAULT FOR THE BAD CHOICES YOU MAKE.

AND TO THE COMMENT POSTED BY NATHON FORREST (COMMENT #7), THIS IS NOT A BLACK AND WHITE THING, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COLOR OF SKIN.

YOUR COMMENT HAS NO REASON FOR BEING PLACED IN THIS DISCUSSION.

DON'T USE A FORUM SUCH AS THIS 1 TO SHOWCASE YOUR LEVEL OF IGNORANCE BY CALLING A MAN A NATUAL (IN WHICH CASE I'M SURE YOU MEANT NATURAL, VIOLENT N...)

THE MAN IS MAKING VERY FOOLISH, IGNORANT AND CHILDISH DECISIONS THAT IN NO SHAPE OR FORM HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT HE IS A BLACK MAN OR A WHITE MAN.

IN CONCLUSION:

I WONDER HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO COME UP WITH THE NAME NATHON FORREST, BECAUSE I AM WILLING TO BET THATWITH YOU MAKING COMMENTS LIKE THAT TOWARDS A BLACK MAN.

THAT YOU ARE PROBABLY A SCARED LITTLE MAN QUICK TO YELL OUT *SECURITY* AT THE FIRST SIGN OF SEEING A BLACK MAN WALKING DOWN YOUR STREET.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO CONFRONT ANYONE FACE TO FACE WITHT HE NONSENSE THAT YOU SEEM SO QUICK TO POST ONLINE.

A BLESSED DAY TO ALL
AND MAY ALL HAVE A BLESSED DAY

13. I was wondering what happened to Paceman Jones.Last summer(June,2007) the Eastside Community of Athens,Georgia was told that the "Paceman"had made plans to relocate to the College Town to get away from the maddness. The last we heard was that he was dealing with pending charges in another State. It just seems as though "Paceman" is very annoyed. And not to mention, poor management of his finances. Once you are in the light of the media, there is no way or place that you can escape from the pressure. Its up to "Paceman Jones" to stand back, take a total look at his life and make the necessary changes. No one is perfect.
If someone had been lunging at me several times. Why wouldn't I wait till that person had totally left the building before I had gone out to any hallway with or without Security?
You of all people(America) can see,the Lawyer was asking for trouble. And there's know telling what kind of comments were made during that meeting....If you provoke a dog hard enough it will bark!!!!!

14. I must agree with Truth B Told, parents should not always be the blame for their children's behavior, especially once the children have become adults. In the case of Pacman Jones, I don't know him personally but I have read all the negative stories about him and it's sad. The man has all this talent and all he can do with it is nothing, since his hands are always behind his back in cuffs and not wrapped around the opposition on the football field. As a mother of a 3yo black male child, I can only pray that I give him all the guidance he needs to become a successful adult and not be blamed for the mistakes he makes as once he is grown.
