"I'm not, never was, never will be. I belong to the religion of the Church of Chaka Khan, and I practice it every day. I live my religion, I consider it a personal thing. But I've taken some courses in Scientology, and they've been very, very helpful through life's ups and downs."

-- Eight time Grammy Award winner and new Broadway star Chaka Khan on Scientology. (The New York Times)

3. Inasmuch as I love your voice Ms Chaka, the church of Chaka Khan will surely land you in hell. Its your choice and you certainly are failing in that area to make a right one.

4. I've got to give an "AMEN" to the fabulous Chaka Khan. Religion is the most private and personal relationship that a person can have. Instantly, people will try to judge us based on our insecurity and our personal relations. Only God can judge you. Find a way to determine when you hear His voice and stay focused on the blessings shared with you. As for Scientology, I tried to check them out. I was rejected. I thought they could sell stuff to anyone in the world, but not me. I walked in while the sun was shining and the birds were singing. When I got my test results back, it started raining and there wasn't a bird in the sky. I hear the word Scientology and I instantly think about God. Was He warning me or raining on me? I didn't hear a voice that I recognized so I left.

5. What could this possibly mean: "I've taken some courses"? Could she mean, like, courses to learn something? And: "they've been very, very helpful through life's ups and downs." What possible lesson about life could be learned from a book!

Terryeo at 1:53PM on Jan 12th 2008

6. Terryeo: While not a Christian myself, I am a tad shocked that you've never heard of a certian book that has taught the world plenty of lessons about life. Never been off of the shelves and still a top seller since the printing press started cranking it out centuries ago. Ask around, I'm sure someone can help you find it at your local book store, church, car dash board, guy giving out free copies on the street...

7. Does everyone not realize or understand that Scientology is something a science fiction writer that failed at writing a successful science fiction novel in his own lifetime came up with? That it's something that someone dreamed up to make money!??!?!?! That 100 years ago, it didn't exist!!!!
How about picking up a book that has a historical basis, consistency, continuity, & offers something that none of the others give: promises of hope, promises of love, promises of redemption . . . . the Holy Bible. NOT the Book of Mormon, the Koran, or anything else that's been dreamed up by some individual in the past 1,000 years, but something that truly spans Creation with the same consistent message: God loves you, & has a plan to prosper you, not harm you. Jesus came & died & was resurrected so that we would have victory over death & find life in Him, & not be separated from God by our sins in death.

8. Scientology as is known today is a corporation of financial gain. L. Ron Hubbard did not write any courses named scientology. Hubbard wrote a book called Dianetics (modern science of mental health) and the most interesting thing about that is Scientology disputes Psychiatry and psychology yet thebasis of Dianetics is exactly that. The study of the mind and the belief that all mental and physical problems are caused by past experiences or traumas and that by rooting these out and exposing them for what they are can cure oneself. Now Scientology has expounding on Mr. Hubbards original idea but if you listen to sessions tapes from the 50's of him using Dianetics it would show that this is exactly how he performed his process, along with a device that was suppose to show electro-magnectic feedback. So it is ironic to me that it is so similair to therapy sessions with a psychiatrist using intense compressed type sessions, in other words to shorten the length of therapy by pushing one through an overview of their life quickly focussing in on certain triggers that may cause problems. And this is what Dianetics is mostly about becoming CLEAR by these intense sessions with what Scientology calls Auditors they try to make one a clear by removing what Hubbard called engrams, thoughts or ideas that cause problems in an individual, such as a child overhearing that sucking on the thumb can make you sick then the child gets a phobia about sucking on their thumb or even sick when they do even later in life. Anyway the book is good reading but beware do not order it from the Scientology people you will have a hard time shaking them for years afterwards. No I'm not insecure enough to be a Scientologist, I am just a researcher.

9. How about just the oldest known book of instructions, the Old Testament? There are a few of life's lessons in there!

Throw the skank back in the ghetto where she belongs. Next she'll be wearing a space suit and have a tinfoil hat just like Tom Cruise. I USED to like Jenna Elfmann until THEY got control of her mind. I still lover her rack though.

12. Here we go again with the religious ZEALOTS....Why does it matter what a person believes in...Just be happy they have some sort of belief...This is what this country was founded on, not just Christianity, Jewish, Mormonism or what have you....and no I don't care what you think or say....just don't go shoving your religion down people throats...That is why we have free will to choose what is best for us...

Besides, there isn't a religion out there that has any real roots of their own that didn't come from another religion that was already in existance...Deny it all you want...90% of the world's religions have all the same rudimentary idea...and according to them, you are all going to hell if you don't believe in their faith...
