(l-r) 'The Color Purple Tour' star LaToya London, who plays Nettie, and the musical's composer Brenda Russell. are all smiles during the show's Los Angeles opening at the Ahmanson Theatre at the Music Center on Dec. 16.

2. I think Brenda Russell is the world's premiere songwriter/singer; she is not only fantastically talented, but a nice person as well. Check out all of her albums...I still love to listen to "Get Here," and "Piano in the Dark." I love the album "Paris Rain." Go Brenda; we love you!!

3. Latoya London did an excellent job as Nettie. Her personality and great voice showed the true love between the sisters. I'm still playing Latoya's CD and can't wait for her next recording. Keep up the great work Latoya and cast.

1. I thought Michelle Williams did a fantastic job in The Color Purple as well as the entire cast, especially Jeannette Bayardelle as Celie. I want to see it again!
