Suspects in Taylor Shooting Denied Bond

Three men charged with murdering Sean Taylor were denied bail Tuesday, a day after thousands of mourners attended the funeral for the Washington Redskins safety.

Thousands Attend Funeral for Taylor
Thousands filled a university arena for Sean Taylor's funeral Monday, with his coach praising his "excitement for life" and the NFL commissioner telling mourners the Washington Redskins star "loved football and football loved him back."

Redskins Emotionally Spent After Loss
Fred Smoot cried several times when he looked over to the safety position and Sean Taylor wasn't there. Santana Moss held up his fingers to represent Taylor's No. 21 after catching a pass. Clinton Portis revealed a T-shirt honoring Taylor after scoring the game's only touchdown. Their resolve was shattered when Rian Lindell kicked a 36-yard field goal with 4 seconds left to give the Buffalo Bills a 17-16 victory.

Three Charged With Murder of Taylor
Three suspects charged in the shooting death of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor appeared in court by videoconference Saturday, with authorities and one of their lawyers saying that at least some of them have confessed.

Three Detained in Taylor Case
Police have detained at least three people in the Fort Myers area for questioning in the death of Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor. The investigators reportedly believe that the robbery was set up when someone was bragging about Taylor's wealth.

Mourning Sean Taylor
Family, friends, teammates and the football community across the country mourn the loss of Taylor, the 24-year-old who died early Tuesday of a gunshot wound from an apparent intruder.

Antrel Rolle Says Taylor Was a Target
Sean Taylor's childhood friend and Arizona Cardinals cornerback Antrel Rolle doesn't think the Redskins star's death was the result of a burglary gone bad. Rolle says, "Down South, where we're from, there were many people targeting Sean, a lot of jealousy, a lot of angry people."

Young, Black and No Longer With Us
The glaring haunting details about Sean Taylor's death are the violent way he died and his young age: getting gunned down at 24. An occurrence that is becoming all too common in the black community. When is it going to stop?

Sean Taylor's Death: Another Statistic?
Almost without exception, every major city in America is seeing record numbers of young people – mostly African American males – die as a result of gun violence.

See No. 21's Greatest Hits
When you hear coaches and teammates talk about Sean Taylor, you get the sense that he was on the cusp of Sean Taylorbecoming a phenomenal well-rounded safety. The proof is in the video clips.

Making Sense of Taylor's Death

It's hard to understand why someone so talented and so young isn't here with us anymore.

5. Why are so many people saying thinking that the girlfriend had something to do with it? Is is because she's hispanic? I sometimes get frustrated about african american men, especially professional men dating outside their race. Do we as black women need to start becoming groupies and throwing ourselves on them. I hate this tragic event but I hope and pray she had nothing to do with his death.

9. Just when Sean had began to do well and change his life, all it take for some theives to take his life, looking to steal from what the man worked hard to get. Any body who acheive success you better move out of the black community. Black people are ignorant uneducated and dangerous.

james at 7:22AM on Dec 1st 2007

10. To James,
All black people are not ignorant, uneducated and dangerous. You seem that way, but not all of us are.
Yes, it is very sad that some of us have so much hate for one another, but we as a people are to blame for that. We each have the duty to teach our children to not only love other peoples, but to love our black selves as well. If we keep teaching our children that everything and everyone is better then we get what we get.

11. Our prayers are with the family. Satain is going to and fro seeking whome he can destory. We are faced with such spiritual warfare today, my prayer is that you keep your hand in Jesus hand. Death has no sorrows that heaven cannot heal. Bro. Taylor is with the Lord and we must stay focus and let God work things out.

Pastor Lawrence Manuel Bread Of Life Baptist Church Of Houston 2420 Cleburne Houston,Texas 77004 at 2:06PM on Dec 1st 2007

12. I was not all that familiar with this young brother but from what I have been told he was a phenomenal athlete. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends.
When are WE going to stop all of these senseless crimes against each other? All of this jealousy and hateration for our own brethren needs to just stop. It just sickens me when I hear about our young men dying at the hands of violence.
WE need to wake the F*CK UP!!!! WE are so wrapped in the white man's world that WE are blind to the traps he has set up for us...remember everything that has happened to us from Martin Luther King to now and you will understand what I'm talking about...DEUCES...

Natalie at 8:39AM on Dec 2nd 2007

Mark Smith at 11:19AM on Dec 2nd 2007

15. To number 15. I will agree with your statement, that is why we have to live daily as tho it is your last. You can kill a person and send him to hell, especially if he/she doesn't know the Lord. None but the righteous shall see God.
