Top 11 Oprah Blunders of '07: No. 10

Posted Nov 9th 2007 4:54PM by Marcus Vanderberg

Oprah's YouTube Channel

Winfrey caught up with the rest of the world by getting involved in the YouTube sensation, launching her own channel with original content from her daily talk show.

But what's the fun in having YouTube clips if her channel moderates comments and disables embedding, so users can only share links and can't place videos on their own sites.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the e-kitchen, Oprah.

1. Oprah is one of the worst influences on TV
She condones everything and only takes a stand when her color gets whited out.
Sorry but we need a month for all the races not just the squeeky wheels.

2. Yeah.... I mean she IS the only show airing on television, it's not like you can (GOD FORBID) change the channel or something as simple as that.
People who usually speak negative about Oprah, will usually spend their time watching dumb sh*t on TV such as I Love New York (talk about a sell out).

But I digress, I am an Oprah fan, but if there is a taping that I do not like..... I simply... hold on to your seats.... change the station.

I also do this with radio.... it's like magic.

3. You know I used to agree with you most of the time. Then I noticed you have become very mean spirited. First Senator Obama now Oprah. You are have become a mean little man. You nip at the heels of people who are at least trying to do something constructive. C'mon Marcus, ease up.

4. she an ugly ----------------b ---------------- she knows crap its all handed to her i dont watch her she makes me want puck -----------------------

5. TIVO is a wonderful thing. You don't like the subject of a show - you delete. We are a free country and that is our right. The UTube show was very interestingand done very well. Oprah is always trying new things. Kudos!

6. Oprah has shared her wealth and her time with so many. Looking at the big picture, she has helped thousands of people in one way or another. I applaud her sense of community.

7. I use to like her, but everytime I see her on TV, she's asking the public to send money for a cause, I think that's outrageous. She has enough money to help a number of causes, don't ask the people watching you show to call.

Kelly at 8:24PM on Nov 10th 2007

8.
Dear Oprah,

I think you are fantastic. You do a lot of great things for every one. I would love to be on your show with you.
We can talk about the web site dating scenes and what a scam they are.

9. Dear Oprah,
Never quit what you love doing. You are a classy woman. You have a great show and you do a lot of good for a lot of people. I would love to be on your show and actually sit with you and we can discuss the Web Site dating service scams.

God Bless You,
Danny Tough

10. Are you a gay Nazi? You seem to hate black people in powerful positions and women...

David at 8:35PM on Nov 10th 2007

11. Oprah's latest brush with abuse in her academy in Africa is a terrible experience. I can relate to the range of emotions and anxiety she must have felt. As a clergyman, I went through the whole range as I watched other clergymen accused and proven to be pedophiles. My own experience was shame and the dysfunction that comes with that. I can sense that she felt -- at least for a time -- a sense of responsibility, of ownership -- that she was somehow responsible. She wasn't; the Matrons were. I wish only the best for her and believe that sh offers the girls in the Academy the very best for their futures. I don't always agree with her, so i am not kissing up as a fan might -- but I have walked where she has walked in this regard and know of the possible pain therein. RAR

12. OPRAH IS AND HAS DONE A LOT FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SO FAR. SOMETIMES WE ARE JUST TOO MEAN TO EACH OTHER, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO LOVE FOR HUMANITY THESE DAYS. JUST SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS AND NO BE SO QUICK TO SPEAK EVIL OF OTHERS

JO at 8:57PM on Nov 10th 2007

13. Its sad when we celebrate another's downfall or even their mistakes. Oprah has done what she can do to raise the consciousness of the average viewer. She may ask people to help a cause or shed light on an injustice, simply because she knows people aren't aware of many issues. She has used her celebrity to educate and support those in need. Is she perfect? Not by a long shot, but with all the attention focused on Anna-Nicole, Lindsey and Brittney, could we simply recognize people who are trying to set a positive example of adult behavior?

MIchael Burke at 8:58PM on Nov 10th 2007

14. As I said about Rachael, if you don't like her or Oprah, use the on/off switch on your TV.

pat yates at 8:59PM on Nov 10th 2007

15. Oprah is one of the BEST influences on TV and in life. She has done a lot for white and black people. And just because she has a lot of money doesn't mean she should use all of her own money to fund all of the several charities that she has going. Like any of us would use ALL of our money....and she did use millions of dollars to start the school in Africa...it's her money and she can do what she pleases with it. People need to just leave her alone...she is a person just like the rest of us...and guess what she isn't perfect either...I get tired of people holding other's to a higher standard than they hold themselves. Get over your self and GET A LIFE...and stop worrying so much about everyone else's. She has done more than most of us could even dream of doing to help people in NEED...did you ever take the time to think that she may seem to be helping more black people because they are the ones that need the help and not just because she is black. And by the way...yes I am an Oprah fan...I don't watch her show everyday but I believe she has been a blessing to millions of people. I can only dream to someday help as many people as Oprah has. Oh yeah, and I am a educated middle class WHITE woman just in case someone thinks that I am just another angry black woman.
