586. It is sad to see how bitter people are. Some of us are lucky to have weathered the storms of life and have met someone we love and it goes beyond color. I am a white woman married to a black man and our friends, a white man and black woman are marrying soon. We have friends of all races and are all mature enough to see past what history has set in motion and the personal insecurities so many people have that they can't get over long enough to enjoy life and find happiness. I feel sorry for them, and am happy for those who have moved on and make their own choices.

587. I stopped reading at comment 15, just seems so repetitive! It seems as though the Author of this Book is getting exactly what they are seeking,another race battle! what's the next Book going to be Titled "Why Do Black Men Date Mexicans", "Why Do Black Men Date Asians"..SMH..I'm a 32 yr. old strong minded white woman with a back bone(Guess I beat the odds..lol) who grew up being asked "why are you taking our black men" and my question always was "If you already have a good BLACK MAN then why does it matter and if you don't then why not?". There are just to many races in this world to even begin listing them, yet the focus is constantly on 2 races(white&black),to each is their own I say! the way the world is today you better be lucky to find good in someone regardless of race. I have much respect for black women and women in general,but reality is there are "FREAKS" in all races and not all white women are gullible to the point where they put up with any oh thing (that's just asinine!),it's not about race,it's about character of the individual. People will always have their opinions, but does it matter as long as you are happy within your relationship with whom ever you decide to be with? and for those that it does matter to, why are you so worried about it? If me being a white woman means I'm easy in bed, put up with alota bull and financially take care of a man then that man would be stroking his "ego" while living in his car. you cannot Judge one race as a whole!!!! just like you can't say one black man is like all the rest, you just can't! are there gullible white women out there? YES! are there gullible black women out there? YES! sure "some" black men go after white women thinking they can use them, but let's be real no one can do to you what you don't allow them to and if you do then you need to gain some self esteem and security within your self no matter what your race is. The bottom line is it should not matter what race you date or what race you marry, but as we all know the drama will continue! Racism is taught and passed down from one generation to the next within all races, some are lucky to be able to live their life able to make the choice to not be racist, some just do not know better thinking it's okay cause you grew up hearing your Mother, Father, Grandmother, etc. put down one race and I feel sorry for those who weren't given the opportunity to have their own opinion of someone because of who the person is rather than their skin complexion based on what you were taught to believe. There is nothing wrong with knowing History, but should we dwell on the past in 2007? No!

590. I agree that love is love and it’s a beautiful thing, no matter what race you are.

But, I feel that outside and within the black race, we still issues. People still look at our skin color; it has not gone away, People!

I’ve heard black people make comments like, “I only date white women or men” and vice versa. It reminds me of the TITLE OF THAT BOOK, WHY BLACK MEN LOVE WHITE WOMEN! I know a black man that said he wanted to date an Asian woman; Now, I think something is wrong with that. If he meets Asian women and they just fell in love that’s different, if he is specifically looking for her because of her race, that’s messed up!

Yes, the book is probably crap to make money, but don’t lie, people still make stupid comments like the ones above. I think any black person, or interracial couple that has true love should be put off by the title of that book.

I know that some people enter relationships based on race.
I think that, if you do, you should want to be with your own, not be a black man or woman and say "I only like or date white people”.

Sorry to go off track but, it like little black girls only wanting to play with white dolls. That’s messed up!

592. Personlly I don't care why Black men go for White women. What really matters is why can't relationships last. A man is a man, it is is sad that many of them don't know how to love or show affection,not only to their womenm but to their children as well. Being a Black woman, if I found some one who is going to give me and my children respect; the color of their skin does not matter. First of all, there are just as many nasty black women as there are white women and the stereotype of the white women who is the "do anything they are told to do when they are told to do it" is over-rated, cause personally if you ask my husband he picked the wrong white women if thats the case. I agree with the comment that there are just as many black women who take all the mess from men as white women. Cause I'm a white women married to a black man and all my friends are black and half of them are far more SUBMISSIVE than I am. So do your research before you post ignorance.

594. I don't think there is any specific reason why a black man dates a white woman. I feel as though this is almost 2008 and the color of ones skin is and should not be an issue especially when it comes down to two people who happen to care about each other.I am a white woman and am engaged to a black man that I have known for 15 years. He knows I don't put up with stupid stuff just as I wouldn't do if it was a white,puerto rican, mexican, chinese, etc..man.What he does know is that I love him no matter what.I am a very strong independent woman and do not feel as though the color of my skin should be a basis of a book. If you treat your man with respect and truly love him it does not matter what our skin looks like. Almost like a rainbow when colors combine they are beautiful.Sometimes I sit back and wonder how hard it must be for ANYONE to not be able to love because the color of ones skin.I pray that we can all unite and become one, that will be the biggest rainbow of all but the white black thing must end to do that.

595. I am a 19 year old, black female, and this topic of why black men love white women is very interesting to me. Im glad that studies are being done, to try to find an answer, if possible, to this question. My brother is currently in a long-term relationship with a white female,and as long they treat eachother with respect and continue to love eachother like I know they do, I don't see anything wrong with thier relationship, Im just glad my brother is happy, and thats all that matters really. And Im also happy for any other brother out there who finds happiness in a white female. I just ask you, black men,whom I love, and who I find are God's gift to the world and women, especially those out there who know how to treat a woman with love and respect, to please don't put all of us "sisters" in the same boat, and judge us all accordingly, not all of us snap our fingers, and roll our necks, and talk loud and rude like we have no education and no home training. Thier are a lot ot fine, successful, sexy, curvy, gorgeous black females out thier, who would love to love you, and would love for you to love them. Also, please don't date a white female, for selfish reasons, like she will do anything, personally if I was white, I would feel offended, and please don't date white woman just to sort of rub it in black womens faces, simply love who ever you want, but make sure its for love, and that the love is mutual.

598. men. {sorry cut myself off} We must not forget that there is a great deal of American history that does not get very much attention. For instense, the relationshp between African American women and white woman. White women were raised in enslavement so to speak there were so many rules to being a "proper" young lady. Eventually placing your napkin in your lap before dinning turned into keeping your legs crossed at all times to ensure frigidility, open twice monthly to ensure offspring.Mean while ole massa in the weaving house with Ruthie endulging in his deepest fantasy. With or with out Ruthies consent.Not only does the white woman have to put up with this but the African American man does to along with so many other hardships the white woman did not face. The African American however was not so lucky. There is so much unresolved history between these three groups that it has is mutated into white women actually thinking that they can give African Americans the key to sucsessful relationships.

My answer to that is because those lame ass ones that choose to do that are still having affairs with BLACK women anyway.
