Vanessa Williams Goes Home Empty-Handed

Posted Sep 16th 2007 11:23PM by Marcus Vanderberg
Filed under: Everybody Hates Marcus

The 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were on Sunday and you would think as a television blogger, I would have more some type of deep, devoted interest in tonight's show.

Wrong.

The Emmy Awards lost me when 'The Wire' was snubbed (yet again) and when they announced that Ryan Seacrest would be hosting.

The Academy really couldn't find anyone better to host their year award show?

Have they not seen Cheesecrest on television before?

The only award I, along with most of our audience, had an interest in was for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy.

Vanessa Williams from ABC's 'Ugly Betty' was nominated but didn't go home with the award.

The honors went to Jamie Pressly from NBC's 'My Name Is Earl.'

I will now continue my boycott of tonight's festivities but if you want more information on the Emmy Awards, you can check out AOL TV's coverage.

And check back on Everybody Hates Marcus on Tuesday for Kimora's recap of the red carpet.

1. Vanessa looked gorgeous! she redeemed herself from the worst dress list. The last time she came out I thought FIRE your stylist! I guess the stylist knew his job was in jeopardy and came around. Exquisite & alway classy that Vanessa!

2. I too was disappointed that she lost. But, Jamie Pressley is talented so I wasn't too mad I guess. Hopefully V will get another nod next year.

3. Oh well, at least she's gainfully employed. I'm sure she's thankful for that.

8. JUNEBUGG...YOU SOUND LIKE A RETARDED FOOL!!! MAYBE YOU ARE ONE OF THE IGNORANT BUFFOONS WHO WEAR THEIR PANTS OFF THEIR ASS...WEARING PANTS OFF YOUR ASS LIKE YOU HAVE A SACK OF SH-T IN THEM IS NOT REPRESENTED BY THE MAJORITY OF BLACK PEOPLE...ONLY A SMALL MINORITY...IF YOU TOOK YOUR DUMB BEHIND TO SCHOOL... MAYBE YOU WOULD KNOW THAT.

9. I am one who does not watch the sitcom, but I have seen Vanessa act in several movies and say that she does a wonderful job to say the least. She has always done well in what she sets her mind to. I ahve seen Ugly Betty once or twice and have seen her act briefly on the show. She has earned the emmy award nomination and should have walked away with it easily. She'll probably win an NAACP Image award for her role. That, to me, is alot more!!! Go On Vanessa with your badd self!!!

10. The person who showed them all what class was all about was Cicely Tyson. What a beauty.

12. Love Bishop James & Betty R Winfree Ministries

In Christian belief, one of the three Theological Virtues (Faith, Hope, and Love) bestowed by God's grace upon the believer.

"And now these remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these are love." - I Corinthians 3:13

You Bible says in 1 John 2:15-17) Stop loving this evil world and all it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you, For the world offers only the Lust for Physical pleasure, the Lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions, These are not from the Father they are from this evil world, And this world is fading away, alone with everything it craves, But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.

God's love is more than just mouth service, The Father gave His Son to save our world, what are we willing to give up?

This is in your Bible my dear loving friends: 1 John 3:11-24) 16, We know what real Love is because Christ gave up His Life for us all, And so We also ought to give up our Lives for other Christians or Believers in Christ Jesus. 17, But if anyone has enough money to live well, and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help, how can God's Love be in that person?

18, Dear people of the faith, let us stop just saying we love each other: let us really show it by our actions, 19, It is by our actions that we know are living in God's truth, so we will be confident when we stand before our Lord on that day when this life comes to an end.

My Lord and My All said it this way, If you really do love Me..He says keep and obey My Word.

Heart to Heart with Bishop James R Winfree Sr,
