VMAs Black Fashion Show: Alicia Keys

Posted Sep 11th 2007 4:05PM by Alexis Stodghill
Filed under: Fashion Victim

Yes, The MTV Music Video Awards are about the videos, and the music, but no one can deny that it's at least 50% about the FASHION!!! Even what the men are wearing seems to matter at the VMAs. Take a look at what the black celebrities were wearing on the red carpet.

First off, we have Alicia Keys. While she is still working that slightly lazy eye, I cannot deny that she seems to look better and better with each passing year. Finally, it's gone--that black hippie chick with a big hat look.

Her torso looks tight, like she's a back-up dancer in a Grace Jones video from 1986. And that deep rust lipstick is slammin.

Keep it going, Ms. Keys!!!

4. She is GORGEOUS! She has a beautiful spirit that shines through. She carries herself as a young lady, she is the type of female role model that young girls should look up to.

5. I WAS SO AMAZED.
No one, No one know what she's feeling. I could feel the song in my soul. WHAT ABOUT THOSE BOOTS......WOW...I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO DESIGNED THEM. Her brown complextion is beautiful. I saw Chris Brown salute her, and so am I.

GO Alicia

6. The first time I saw her was a number of years ago as a guest among some true 'big hitters' on Oprah. She steps out in an ensemble that resembled a tuxedo. As she walks around the piano bench she sweeps the tail of her jacket from under her and proceeds to play some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in my life. By the time she concluded, tears are streaming down my face and I have vowed to keep a close eye and ear on this extremely talented young woman. Though I've always felt that she was very pretty, it seems her fashion attire has evolved over the years just as she has. I love you, Alicia! May God continue to bless!

7. What did you mean she looks better and better every year?
She has always looked good.

When I imagine what the perfect woman would be like, Alicia Keys is the first person I think of.

BlacXiii at 4:29PM on Sep 12th 2007

8. Alicia is very beautiful and classy! She knows how to carry herself and she needs to be an example of how real black women are supposed to portray themselves especially in front of millions of people.

9. I love Alicia Keys she original, not like a Beyonce' wanting to be in the camera eye all the time. Alicia can rock anything and hook it up, she from New York my home, so I know about the accessory thang. I bet even if she didn't have all that pretty hair, she wouldn't pull a Beyonce' wearing Sea Biscuit all the time (Weave) trying to look like Little Mermaid. No one can touch Alicia she a multi-talent. I kinda like Beyonce ya'll she getting on my nerves with this she wish she was latina. Beyonce could get a name change to Beyoncia, hey now she Puerto Rican (my back)Latina. She probably hooked from doing that video with Shukira (the latina hip shakin girl). Keep ya'll comments coming, have a great night C-Ya

11. Nobody is better or prettier than mrs keyes. Also she's a lady who stands out because of her attitude as a lady and performaner. And she does't have to get" naked" to get my vote. Are you listening" Beyonce" who wants to get naked and change her nationality to Spanish. Alicia is everbodys number" one".

Robert jONES at 6:08PM on Sep 14th 2007

12. Number One, Number One, Number One, Number OneNumber One, Number one.A+ A+ A+ A=. if there is such a term A+++, A+++. that means triple a plus, or as far as you can go to say ,"the best of the Best".Alicia Keyes.
