That Flavor Flav sure is something else.
With the success of his hit reality TV franchise 'Flavor of Love,' he rose from the ashes of what was a historical hip-hop career -- where he played the jester-esque hypeman of the politically conscience rap outfit Public Enemy -- to become a pop culture icon.
Now he's getting roasted on Comedy Central -- marking a first for the network.
"We only roast the ones we love -- and the world is clearly crazy about this guy. This event will be full of surprises as Flavor Flav is going to experience a whole new kind of love in this Roast," said Comedy Central's Senior Vice President Elizabeth Porter, of the event that will take place this July in Los Angeles.
Officially dubbed "The Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav," the program will air Aug. 12 at 10:00 p.m.
Flav, legally known as William J. Drayton, joins previous Comedy Central roastees William Shatner and Pamela Anderson.

1. Flav is my TV hero! No, he's a Black Superhero! He's Super Clock! His powers come from his magic grill and his timepiece. He can snag more babes in Vegas with a single smile. He can leap more tall buildings cause he's got bounce. Flav gives all ugly people hope because they just don't get any uglier or more successful. Way to go Flav! You've got real skillz if you can make New York and Monique look good! He's sitting on two gold mine pay per view event. Payback for the spit and Hoops, I did it again.
