Wrestlemania Never Gets Old For This Kid at Heart

Posted Apr 1st 2007 9:49PM by Marcus Vanderberg
Filed under: Everybody Hates Marcus

Even at 24-years-old, Wrestlemania for some reason never gets old. And watching Vince McMahon and Donald Trump prance around the ring like two school girls was well worth the $49.99.

As you can tell by the picture, McMahon's representative, Umaga, was defeated by Trump's representative, Bobby Lashley in the Battle of the Billionaires at Wrestlemania 23 from Ford Field in Detroit.

And as a result of Umaga losing, McMahon had his head shaved bald.

(Could you imagine this guy with a shaved head?)

Even though Trump managed to escape with his "hair," he still caught a Stone Cold stunner from Steve Austin after the match.

Prior to the festitives, singing legend Aretha Franklin sang 'America the Beautiful' in front of a crowd of over 80,000 fans.

Franklin also sang at the last Wrestlemania that was held in Detroit - Wrestlemania III which was held at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1987.

And in case you were wondering, John Cena defended his WWE title by defeating Shawn Michaels.

No more wrestling posts on the blog for 11 months until this time next year...

1. I'm 29 years old, and have probably watched wrestling since I was two. I love the characters, and the excitement is off the hook. My favorite wrestler is John Cena he's the real deal.

2. My pressure has been up waiting for wrestle mania! I love The Undertaker but I adore Batista.. This was amatch made in hell... I am however estatic about Vince hvaing his head shaved! Kudos to John Cena , I knew that HBK was up to no good and I am happy that you won ur match!! Someone well maybe 20 men need to get Khali big, ugly abusive azzz and rip him to shreds!

3. It was all the usual hokey good fun, and let me tell you, that Jon Cena is one hot white boy, getting hot up in herrre just thinking about him, LOL!

4. As if there were any chance Trump would "lose" the bet. But we all knew that, didn't we? For some reason, even though we know wrestling is staged, it seems as if many people and media outlets went along with the WWE script and the illusion that Trump "might" have his head shaved. It's amazing that even after wrestling came out and admitted it's staged entertainment, fans would still rather pretend it's real.

5. I have been watching wrestling with my dad and brothers since I was a kid and I still watch it. It's good entertainment, and while my dad is not around anymore it reminds me of the good times we used to have.

8. Mr. Vanderberg, you idiot rap stooge, Ms. Franklin had performed the song titled "America the Beautiful" made famous by a singer by the name of Kate Smith when she performed the song during the 30's and 40"s

Not American the Beautiful, the really sad thing is you will not even read this

Farrell at 4:49PM on Apr 3rd 2007

10. IT'S LIKE A TRADITION TO WATCH WRESTLING WIT MY COUSINS AND MAYBE A COUPLE FRIENDS IF THEY'RE AROUND. THIS YEAR, ME, MY BROTHER AND THEM WENT TO HOOTERS (LOL) AND WATCHED IT THERE WHILE WE ATE. IT WAS LIVE IN THERE! IT'S FUN WITH A CROWD WHEN EVERYONE IS INTO IT. AS FOR TAKER AND CENA, THEM IS MY N*GG*Z. LOL.

11. I have been a wrestling fan as far back as i can remember, but is it just me or has wrestling lost its intensity that it once had back in the late 90's or the early 2000's. I miss seeing Stone Cold and The Rock. I remember the old DX with HHH, HBK, the New Age Outlaws, and X Pac vs the Nation of Domination. I think the worst thing that WWE has done over the years was let the NWO go. That was the best thing to happen to any wresting orginization. Im still NWO, because when you are down with them, its 4-Life.

Kevin at 11:42PM on Apr 4th 2007

12. i'm related to trump

mz.love at 11:42PM on Apr 4th 2007

13. First of all, I like to wish my congratulations to the UNDERTAKER, way to go Taker for fulfilling your perfect record at Wrestlemania, I was definitely on my feet when you won and I have to say how proud of you I am. Next on the agenda, Shawn Michaels, you say that you are a "christian" but was a poor sport when John Cena offered his hand after your match at Wrestlemania. Shawn, go back and reread your bible son, because that's not the way a "christian" is suppose to act, so therefore you lied to God and yourself, fooling yourself pretending to be so much in God. You is a joke son not to mentioned a hypercrick. Now save the best for last, my idol, STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN, I got a pleasure meeting you in Westlake Borders Store signing your book and you will always rain supreme. Stone Cold keep kicking ass and taking names, OH HELL YEAH!!!

Lee at 11:38PM on Apr 5th 2007

14. I am glad Cena won and HBK lost because I never liked DX
anyway.
