2000 -- Even in a career of awards and decorations, 2000 stands out. Tiger opened with wins at the Mercedes Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, registering his his fifth and sixth consecutive victories and set a record. He won the U.S. Open by a jaw-dropping 15 strokes and set nine records in the process, including Old Tom Morris' 1862 record for win by the biggest margin in a major. At the time, this was the largest margin of victory ever recorded at a major tournament. Meanwhile, he became the fifth player in history during 2000 and the youngest player (age 24) to ever to have a career Grand Slam. His scoring average of 67.79 was the lowest in PGA Tour history. He took home PGA Player of the Year Honors for the second consecutive year and Sports Illustrated selected his Sportsman of the Year.

2001 -- He turned 25 this year, and promptly proceeded to do something unprecedented. Duvall was tied with Tiger after 15 holes on the final round, but he went on to miss birdie putts on the 17th and 18th holes and ended up in second place. And for the third year running, he is named PGA Player of Year.
