T.O. Gets Dissed by the Pizza Man

Poor T.O. Not only does he have the Eagles organization booting him out of Philly, and sportswriters and critics putting him through the fire, he's hearing it from the man on the street too.

The Player's Life

Last week, after he was suspended indefinitely, T.O. ordered pizza from Dominos and tipped the delivery person $5. The delivery man chose to leave the five-spot on the porch of T.O's New Jersey home, citing Owens' needing it to "support his family." Ouch.

A Philly restaurant called the Capital Grille wasn't too happy with T.O. either. Shortly after Eagles Coach Andy Reid announced the decisions that effectively ended Owens' career in Philly, the restaurant emptied out T.O.'s private liquor locker and a plate engraved with his name was covered in electrical tape. Owens doesn't drink, but stored gifts from other fans and patrons in the locker.

With all that animosity to deal with, Owens headed south to get away from the hoopla. Not happening. He took in the Hawks game against the L.A. Clippers last week in Atlanta, and when he was introduced the crowd gave up a mix of cheers and boos (mostly boos we hear). Owens has called ATL home for quite awhile, but we don't know how long that will last after he put his 18,000-square foot, five bedroom crib in the swanky Sandstone Estates area of Lithonia, Ga., up for sale.

The house is on the market for a cool $4.4 million. At least he'll have a little bit of change if he sells the house, since the brother needs a job.

Laila Ali Says 'I Am Not Gay!'

News that boxing champ Laila Ali is going through a divorce from husband, Johnny 'Yahya' McClain, has spawned rumors that the five-year marriage ended because she came out of the closet. One tabloid even reported that she was currently dating Queen Latifah.

Where do they get this stuff?

Well, Ali released a statement late last week trying to quell the rumors and set the record straight. "Yes, I am in the process of getting a divorce, but I am not dating, nor will I ever be dating a woman, because I am not gay," Ali said in the statement. "It is unfortunate that my divorce has started rumors in the media that are untrue."

Ali is also currently training for a fight on Dec. 17 in Berlin as the kick off of her 2006 world tour. She'll also gladly knock out anyone who keeps her name in their mouth with those lesbian rumors.

Serena Gets Her Acting On

Serena Williams looks to be taking it easy until next year. Injuries to both Serena and Venus will keep them out of serious competitive engagements for the rest of the year, though they will play each other as part of the Williams Sisters Tour charity. And they are getting busy with other activities. Venus is taking some fashion classes, while Serena will be putting in some work on her acting career.

First she made a special guest appearance in the Nov. 17 episode of 'ER,' as an airplane crashes in the middle on Chicago. Later on this month, Serena will also appear in an episode of the 'Bernie Mac Show.'

Look for the sisters to hit the court again for the Australian Open in January, unless, of course, that perfect movie role comes along.

Tiger Woods Stays Paid

Tiger Woods is taking a look back at his 2005 season… not too shabby. He won six tournaments, two of them majors, which makes this his best year since 2000, when he won nine tournaments, three of them majors. So what does he get?

Topping the PGA money list for the sixth time, Tiger's winning totaled $10.628 million, closing with a second place finish that netted him $715,000. But he wasn't done. Woods is currently in Shanghai for the $5 million HSBC Championship, for which he collected a $1 million appearance fee in addition to his second place finish; then it's off to Japan for the Dunlop Phoenix tournament where he'll collect another $1 million just for showing up.

Melo Prepares for Launch of 5.5

Carmelo Anthony recently wrapped up filming a commercial for his new Brand Jordan shoes, Melo 5.5 in his old neighborhood of West Baltimore. Directed by accomplished film director Antoine Fuqua ('Training Day,' 'Tears of the Sun'), the commercial will feature Melo's childhood idol, Benard King, Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim and music exec -- and BV blogger -- Kevin Liles, a Baltimore native.

Word is that the shoot ran from 7PM to almost two in the morning. Melo later said that Fuqua is probably the only person that can keep him working that late.

Melo celebrated the release of his shoe in Denver Nov. 18 with a party at Denver's Beyond nightclub. Celebs slated to attend include, Jadakiss, Styles P, Cam'Ron, Sheek Louch, his girl, Lala and Hot 97 New York DJ, Absolut. Hopefully Melo's new shoes can get him into All-Star consideration this season.

    Dennis Rodman Plays Dead

Dennis Rodman was in New York late last week to promote his new book ‘I Should be Dead by Now.' Rodman rolled into a Manhattan Borders bookstore stuffed into a casket that arrived in a hearse. He popped out of the coffin and stood for photos for about 20 minutes. Once inside, Rodman, looking like a giant Beetlejuice, signed books for both fans and media people. You can get a full report along with a nice collection of pictures from Deadspin.com.
