Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony made his first starring appearance in the video for Ciara’s new song, 'And I.' In the video, Melo plays the singer's boyfriend but she finds out that he's cheating on her with another woman, so Ciara, being the strong black woman she is, ditches the Melo-man for her bodyguard… yeah, we know. Look for the video to hit television video stations in the next couple of weeks.

Ciara might've dumped Carmelo in her video, but real-life fiancee La La Vazquez is always there for her Melo man.

In other Melo news, the Nugget held his first annual basketball camp, Camp Melo, in Lakewood, Colo. About 450 kids, between ages 8 and 18 signed up, paying $199 each to participate. Camp officials didn’t expect so many participants.

"I didn't think there would be this many kids," Anthony told the Rocky Mountain News. "I was shocked... It was a great feeling to have something like this, something I can make annual."

Other ballers helping Melo out at the camp included teammates Greg Buckner, Francisco Elson and New Orleans Hornets rookie Chris Paul.

Magic Launches 32Magic Shoe Line

As if Magic Johnson doesn't already have enough business ventures with six movie theatres, 30 Burger Kings, 85 Starbucks, eight fitness clubs, a few TGIF restaurants, some real estate and five percent of the L.A. Lakers, the NBA legend is expanding his empire. Last week Johnson launched 32Magic, a line of affordable shoes and apparel.

"I always wanted a line, but I didn't know how to do it," Johnson told Dime Magazine. "I wanted my [shoe] line to be $60 or less. I thought that if we could do it like that, I'd do it. So, now that it's done, we were able to make everything $65 and under. We want to be what Jordan is to the $100 and up group. We're trying to cater to the urban community with affordable [prices], yet stylish [shoes]."

Johnson was at an Elgin, Ill., Meijer store last week signing autographs for over 300 fans who bought a pair of Magic32 sneakers to celebrate the launch of the line.

NFL Players Cultivate Most High Clothing

Buffalo Bills safety Coy Wire started his clothing line, Most High Clothing, back in 2003 in order to raise positive and spiritual awareness as well as funds for numerous charities. When his former Stanford University teammate Kerry Carter, now a running back for the Seattle Seahawks, caught wind of what Wire was doing, he had to be down.

"It's just something I thought was a great idea," Carter told TPL after coming home from the Seahawks training camp. "I just wanted to be involved in some way whether it was endorsing the product, wearing it or just helping him out or what not. I believe in what Most High stands for, which is inspiring and instilling hope in others, so I took on other stuff. He made me vice president and now we’re co-owners of the company."

Both players have a strong faith in their Christian beliefs, which inspire the clothing line, but they make it clear that the clothing line is for everyone who believes in a being that’s supreme.

"Whether it's Allah, whether it's Jah, whether it's Jehovah, whether it's Buddah, as long as you believe in something positive," Carter said. "That’s why we use the words 'Most High' because it can represent a lot of different things, but it does represent a higher power, whatever that higher power is to you."

Athletes Turn Broadcasters This Season

One of the biggest decisions in an athlete’s life comes after they’re done playing the game. What do you do next? Return to normal civilian life? Stay in the game as a coach? More and more athletes are choosing to go the broadcasting route. Last week a few networks announced who would be grabbing the mic for their NFL sports shows this season.

Fox Sports Networks announced that recently retired Tim Brown and Jason Sehorn will join Chris Meyer on the weekly show, ‘Pro Football Preview,’ debuting Sept. 9.

ESPN's 'Sunday Night Football,' which already features Mike Patrick, Joe Thiesmann and Paul Maguire will add Sterling Sharpe, Mike Tirico and Mike Golic to supplement the coverage.

Jamal Lewis Stuck in ATL

Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis finished up his sentence in a half-way house last week and is looking to join the teams in training camp this week. Lewis was scheduled to join training camp in its first full week but is stuck in Atlanta while the details of his probation are being finalized.

Lewis spent two months in a halfway house as part of a plea bargain deal on drug-related charges. The previous four months were spent in a Pensacola, Fla., prison. Lewis pleaded guilty to using a cell phone to help a friend’s cocaine transaction in June 2000.

    Mike Tyson Considers Porn Career

As if Mike Tyson's career isn’t low enough, word is coming out that Iron Mike’s next career move may be into porno films. Apparently the former champ was approached by reps for porn star Jenna Jameson’s camp to co-star in an upcoming X-rated film.

"I just talked to a gentleman called Jimmy who's involved with Jenna Jameson," Tyson told Britain’s Zoo Magazine. "They said they were interested in getting me involved in the adult film industry. But I would need the money up front."

But according to DogHouseBoxing.com, Jameson has never considered doing anything with Tyson (she now only makes films with her husband). A rep from Jameson's company, Club Jenna, says they have never contacted Tyson.

"We don’t usually comment on rumors, but no: That is not going to happen," Club Jenna spokesperson Ellie Reeve told XBiz. "I don’t know how these things get started."

Looks like Mike might need to find another way to pay off his debts.
