Last week,
Allen Iverson and Reebok celebrated 10 years of an endorsement relationship with a party at The Canal Room in New York. The event also introduced Iverson's new shoe, The Answer IX,' his 10th shoe that will hit stores Nov. 4.
"People finally started to accept that it's not about what a person looks like on the outside as far as personal appearance," Iverson told the Philadelphia Daily News about being accepted and Reebok taking a chance on him. "It's about what's on the inside. I think the cornrows, the tattoos, the way I dressed was a 'Do Not Disturb' sign for the NBA and society in general. It took a lot of ups and downs for me to be accepted, but I'm glad I went through that."
Regina King,
Fabulous,
Cam'Ron and others were in the house to celebrate with Iverson.
In other Iverson news, gambling Web site
Bodog.com has offered to pay any fines Iverson receives for violating the new NBA dress code. A.I. has publicly spoken out against the dress code, and while he has not announced his plans, a lot fans regard him as one of the players most likely to break the new rules.
"I can understand the frustration felt by the many basketball players who feel that they have been forced to conform to the league's new dress code," said Bodog.com founder and CEO Calvin Ayre in a statement. Iverson and other NBA players have suggested that they will not abide the league's dress code, and Bodog.com will offer to reimburse any fines levied and match the payment with a donation to each player's charity of choice."
Although Iverson has not responded to the offer, we figure that he'll be OK with his $100 million lifetime endorsement deal with Reebok.
Bootsy Collins Wants You to 'Fear Da Tigers'Even though the Bengals got spanked by the Steelers on Sunday, Cincinnati fans are not wavering, especially

The songs, 'Fear Da Tigers' and 'Bigg Cats' were produced and written by Bootsy, his son
Oowee and
Matt Hood. The songs feature vocal performances from players

Ben Wilkerson, and
Stacy Andrews. You can download both songs plus a remix of 'Fear Da Tigers'
here."You can tell people are starting to turn around and start feeling good about things," Bootsy told WKRC-12 in Cincinnati. "That's kind of catchy... contagious and that's a good thing. Because we've been scuffling so long trying to get this winning vibe on us and I think that now it's catching on."
There's no word if
Chad Johnson's, 'We're Not Supposed to Lose!' bonus track will ever be released.

Allan Houston, Movie Career?Even though
Allen Houston's basketball career is over, another career may be on the horizon. Already appearing in such films as 'Laws of Attraction', '
'Black and White' and 'The Yards', Houston may have a future in Hollywood. According to
James Toback, director of 'Black and White,' he would sign him up quick.
"He has a film career waiting if he wants it," Toback told Page Six. "Allan is a superb natural actor. On-screen, he projects the poise of a Brando or a Dean."
On the court, of course, he has knees like a toothpick.
Tarver, Jones Jr. Battle Again… Over Movie GigA belt and respect aren't the only things Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr. have been fighting over in the past year; both boxers were rumored to be up for a role in the upcoming 'Rocky' movie set to begin production in the coming months. There were rumors that Sylvester Stallone was high on getting Roy Jones Jr. to appear in 'Rocky 6' as the villain who, during a charity boxing match with Rocky, takes it a little too far: From there, the drama ensues.
According to Philadelphia Daily News, however, the interest in Jones Jr. is just a rumor, and that Stallone's people were actually in negotiations with Antonio Tarver to star as the villain. Wow… did Jones just lose again?
