Although 'Desperate Housewives' star
Eva Longoria confirmed that San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker was her "boyfriend", she has yet to respond to engagement rumors that have Parker handing her a four-plus carat diamond ring. Instead, she was reportedly seen chillin' poolside at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with Keyshawn Johnson and Drew Henson of the Dallas Cowboys last week. Apparently Parker doesn't have a subscription to Rolling Stone or he would have read where Eva confessed
she isn't trying to get married to anyone anytime soon.

Shaq Goes UndercoverAs seen here at TPL,
Shaquille O'Neal has shown great interest in fighting crime once his basketball career is finished. In May, Shaq was sworn in as a U.S. Deputy Marshal and last week he spent some time in Bedford County, Va., where he received a plaque and an honorary badge from the U.S. Marshals Service. He also spent a few days training with the Blue Ridge Thunder, a Bedford County Sheriff's Office task force that fights Internet crimes against children. One of his assignments was to pose as a teenage girl in various chat rooms and online communities.
In addition, Shaq earned his certification to carry a gun, a .40-caliber Glock to be exact. During his certification process, he also fired a shotgun, a submachine gun, and a sniper rifle.
"My parents always told me to have a plan," Shaq said about his law enforcement training. "When I was in high school, my plan was to go to college. When I was in college, my plan was to go to the NBA. Now that I'm in the NBA, I have to work on another plan."
Teens Battle Diesel and FlashWhen Shaq was done being Officer Diesel, he and teammate
Dwyane "Flash" Wade headed down to Miami to play against 14 teenagers. The teens were winners of the 7th Annual Nestle Crunch Hot Shots Camp. More than 1,000 players, between the ages of 12 and 19, submitted 60-second video clips of their b-ball skills, hoping to get selected to attend the camp.
"I did a double-take when I saw the tapes these kids sent in," Shaq said in a statement. "They are so good that I decided to bring some back up this year."
Find out what Kanye West thinks about using the B-word.
All the kids got to go one-on-one against Shaq and also participated in a 32-minute game against Shaq, Wade and some
AND1 streetballers. The winners received an autographed basketball, a photo with Shaq, an Xbox gaming system, and a 10-pound Nestle Crunch bar.
T. O. Takes Some Time Off in AtlantaBy now everyone knows about the soap opera that is
Terrell Owens and the Philadelphia Eagles. He's not happy with the seven-year $49 million contract he signed last year, and the Eagles don't care, which gave T.O. a bit of a chip on his shoulder during training camp. To add fuel to the flames, he gets into a shouting match with head coach
Andy Reid and is suspended from camp for a week. So what does T.O. do with his time off? He and his abs headed down to Atlanta and took in the Falcons-Ravens preseason game last Saturday. He's mentioned before his interest in being traded to Atlanta, but apparently the Falcons don't think his attitude is worth it. No, really? Why would they think that?
Tim Brown Throws Hat Into NASCARRecently-retired
Tim Brown is not kicking back quite yet. The former Oakland Raider is in the process of putting together his own NASCAR team. While not the first NFL player to get involved with NASCAR, Brown would be one of the few minority owners in the racing world. NASCAR has recently been making an effort to increase its diversity and gain more black and Latino racing fans – Brown is helping push that along.
Brown hopes to debut his car, a silver and black ditty with "81" painted on the hood and doors, in next season's Nextel Cup Series.

Jawn Murray weighs in on T.I.'s legal issues, Tyler Perry's box office success and Juanita Bynum's financial problems. Plus, there's news on Kyla Pratt, Bill Cosby, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Common.Get The Word.
"It's not cool to wear a Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jacket in the hood," Brown said. "We want to make it cool."
Is Roy Jones Jr. Scared?Is
Roy Jones Jr. scared of
Antonio Tarver? Apparently some fans thought so after Jones was a no-show at the promotion party for the Tarver-Jones fight, scheduled for October 1, on HBO. The party was held at Manhattan's
Copacabana and Tarver hosted the soiree by his lonesome. Even though Jones didn't make it out, it didn't stop Tarver from firing a couple of verbal shots at his opponent, who he's knocked out twice to grab the WBC and IBO belts.
"I take my hat off to Roy," Tarver told the Associated Press. "It's been said he never pursued tough fights and ducked tough opponents. Roy Jones is a proud man; he's not going to take two defeats lightly. This gives him vindication and redemption. I'm the only man that can give that to him. I'm going to do everything in my power so that victory escapes him."
Apparently the fight is so important to Jones that he skipped the party to train in Pensacola, Fla.
