Eddie George, Wife Play the Reality Game

Former Tennessee Titan Eddie George brought a renewed energy to FSN’s Pro Football Preview last season. Now his wife, Tamara A. Johnson-George (some of you may know her as Taj from the R&B trio SWV), will be taking the spotlight. Taj stars in a new reality series, 'I Married a Baller' that premiered on TV One last weekend, detailing her life being married to a famous athlete.

"Our marriage is probably slightly different from normal married couples not having to worry about somebody interrupting their dinner, asking for an autograph or pushing you to the side as a wife to get a picture,” Taj says in the show.

Don’t expect the craziness of 'The Osbournes,' the drug-fueled lunacy of Whitney and Bobby or the dramas from 'Flavor of Love.' The Georges are respectable folk. The couple was married in 2004 and is raising Eddie’s 10-year-old son, Jaire, from a previous relationship and 2-year-old son Eriq. They live in Nashville with cribs in Ohio and L.A.

You Make the Call

"I have no fear of showing people my life, what I do and the struggles that I have,” George said to Columbus Dispatch about watching himself on TV. "You just see how precious and blessed you are to have your kids and your wife and the things you do have. Watching on television, you're like, 'You know what, man? I'm an all right guy.' "

Vince Young: Will He Break the Madden Curse?

Once again EA Sports has announced its cover athlete for Madden NFL 08 and the honors (or curse?) go to Tennessee Titan Vince Young. Though Titans fans aren’t very happy because of the coincidence of injuries that happen to athletes who have been on the cover, but it seems as if Young is happy about it.

Utah Jazz Faces
His 'Nightmare'

Derek Fisher has provided the playoffs most emotional moment so far. After missing Game 1 and most of Game 2 to attend to his infant daughter's cancer surgery, Fisher scored all five points in overtime to help the Jazz beat the Warriors 127-117 in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals.
His Off-Court Battle

“It is truly an honor for me to be on the cover of Madden NFL 08, every NFL player dreams of being on the cover,” Young said in a statement. “After being named Rookie of the Year and going to the Pro Bowl my first season—this is a perfect way to start my second season in the NFL.”

Last season, after Shaun Alexander appeared on the cover of Madden NFL 07, he broke his foot in Week 3 and missed most of the season, legitimizing the myth of the Madden Curse. Donovan McNabb, Ray Lewis, Michael Vick, Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper and Eddie George all were injured or had disappointing seasons after appearing on the cover of the Madden video game. But Young is ignoring those mishaps.

“Nah. I'm a big fate guy, I don't worry about no jinx,” Young told ESPN. “If I get hurt, it was bound to happen. Or if I go through the season, and have a great season, I think that's God's will. So I don't believe in none of that stuff. I just go out there and play the game that I love the most—football.”

Will Young be the one to break the curse?

Dwyane Wade Has a Special Playoff Shoe

For those of you watching the Bulls-Heat playoff series closely, you may have noticed that Dwyane Wade is sporting a new pair of kicks. The black-and-yellow version of the Converse Wade 2.0 was recently announced and hits stores this week.

"I'm excited to be returning to the team in time for our playoff run. Like the Converse ad says, I'm 'all in' as we begin to defend our title," Wade said. "I had great success wearing the first Playoff version of my signature shoe, so I'm hoping that run continues with the Wade 2.0." The design of the shoe includes a perforated pattern on the medial side of the shoe with an embossed "Z" for his son, Zaire. The upper and outsole have a repeating "W" pattern inspired by Wade and the Thorn. Then there is a leather patch behind the tongue featuring Dwyane Wade’s signature. The shoe hit stores this week and retails for $100.

    LeBron James Disses the Kids?

LeBron James has already left a bad taste in people’s mouths with his disrespect for Stephon Marbury’s Starbury line of shoes and clothes as well as his disregard for working conditions in overseas plants that create his and other Nike shoes. Now King James is canceling his annual King for Kids Bike-A-Thon event. According to James’ publicist, homeboy is just too busy. He’s expecting his second baby in mid-June. He’s hoping the Cavaliers are still in the playoffs and he’s currently building a new home.

"The Bike-a-thon simply cannot take place without LeBron," Keith Estabrook, James’ publicist, told the Akron Beacon Journal. "t's too much."

The bike-a-thon was a hit in Ohio, where underprivileged kids received free bikes and helmets and were able to hang out with James and other NBA superstars like Dwyane Wade. The event also benefited the LeBron James Foundation, which raised money for other organizations in Ohio.

Chris Bosh Shares Playoff Thoughts on New Blog

The Toronto Raptors may be having a tough time with the New Jersey Nets but Chris Bosh is still excited to be in the playoffs. NBA.com gave him a blog to shares his thoughts on the games as well as give a behind-the-scenes look at the intensity of the NBA Playoffs.

“That's all I can think about right now!” Bosh wrote on his blog. “We lost Game 1 to New Jersey and I could barely sleep! Game 2 isn't until Tuesday so I have to wait to get back at 'em. Until then, I'll be up all day and all night thinking about it.”
