Kenny Smith, you know, the guy who won championships with the Houston Rockets and now analyzes basketball games with
Charles Barkley on TNT? Well, he is now getting into the television production. Usually viewed as the straight guy to Barkley’s off-the-wall guy, Smith will actually be getting his kicks in a new project for TBS he’s producing with
Jamie Foxx.
“It’s a show that we are developing,” Smith told The SportsInterview.com. “It is myself, Jamie Foxx, our writers Lamont Ferrell, and Jamie Foxx’s team consists of Marcus King. We have been doing an interesting show about an NBA player that has to live at home. That’s the basis of it. It’s a sitcom, obviously. A guy living at home with his family, a young guy who just makes the NBA.”
Smith also recently hosted a basketball tournament in Atlanta last weekend and plans to host his annual 4th- to 12th-grade tournament on the first weekend in July in California. He’s currently accepting applications and teams can sign up

T-Wolves’ Troy Hudson Raps as T-Hud
While people are still mad at New York Mets’
Lastings Milledge’s wack raps with his boy
Manny D, Minnesota Timberwolves’
Troy Hudson announced that he’ll soon drop his debut album, joining fellow ballers
Ron Artest and
Tony Parker who dropped albums earlier this year. In a recent interview with Allhiphop.com, writer Dove joked about
Shaq’s rap career, but most athlete-rappers like Hudson look up to Shaq’s success.
“First of all Shaq-Fu did two million, [laughs] so that’s pretty successful," T-Hud tells Dove, "but I think in today’s world that hip-hop has gone in a different direction. I think hip-hop still has its street edge, but I also think hip-hop is very image driven. I think that hip-hop and athletics tie in, whether the athlete himself is rapping or the athlete has a crew of cats who are rapping, because most athletes into professional sports [like] football, basketball or baseball [are] from the inner city. In the inner city, one of the main outlets in today’s world is hip-hop.”
T-Hud’s debut album “Undrafted” is set to drop sometime this summer and features appearances from singer
Ray J and MTV reality minstrel show stars
Three 6 Mafia. And what to expect from the album? Well, what do rich ballers rhyme about? Cars, jewelry, mansions, boats, clothes, vacations. Yeah, you pretty much know the rest. Check out his music

Two Guys Win Auction for Date With Giants’ Michael StrahanIt’s been a rough time for New York Giants’
Michael Strahan. His divorce from his wife made headlines, then she had her own little liquidation sale at the Strahan mansion. She sold monogrammed Giants duffle bags that belonged to Michael as well as gloves used in games, and even a couple of his old TVs.
Well, at least he’s single, right? Last week the football star put himself up for auction to benefit the Institute for Civic Leadership figuring he'd at least have dinner with a nice lady. But that didn’t happen. Two dudes outbid 13 women, according to the New York Post, paying $10,000 each to have a night out with the lineman. He is keeping his word to go out with the winning bidders.
Doug Christie and Wife Write Basketball and Marriage BookDoug Christie and his wife,
Jackie, are really trying to spin their reality show stardom into something bigger. The couple announced that they’re releasing a new book called, 'No Ordinary Love: A True Story of Marriage and Basketball.' Hoping to capitalize on their BETJ reality show, 'Committed: The Christies,' the book will focus on how the couple first met and the daily challenges they faced while Christie was playing in the NBA. (Doug hasn’t announced retirement, but he didn’t play last season and is currently not on a team).
The book also offers “unique advice and detailed recommendations for not only making relationships work, but making them last.” We’re sure Jackie has some good tips for keeping those groupies away from your man! The couple also recently released a new DVD called “The Christies: Uncut” that features 60 minutes of comedy sketches written and directed by the couple. Jackie is also planning to launch a clothing line through her Web site, JackieChristie.com.
