Grambling's Edwards Named SWAC's Co-Offensive Player of the Week

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) - Senior Grambling State receiver Clyde Edwards has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's co-offensive player of the week.

Freshman running back Frank Warren and senior kicker Tim Manuel were also recognized today, earning newcomer and specialist of the week honors respectively.

Edwards had three touchdown catches as GSU defeated Texas Southern, 57-9 Saturday. He now has 36 scoring receptions, with three regular season games left in 2007.

Warren averaged 8.8 yards on Saturday, running for 149 net yards and a score. His 750 yards this season rank third overall in the SWAC.

Manuel made six .after attempts as well as a 29-yard field goal to win his third league specialist of the week award. He was also recognized after wins over Prairie View and UAPB.
