FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) - Officials at the NAACP 's national headquarters in Baltimore have been talking about a move to the Washington area. Now they say that if details can be worked out, they'd consider relocating to Prince George's County's National Harbor Project.
Leaders of the civil rights group met with Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich, Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele and Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson Monday.
NAACP president Bruce Gordon tells The Washington Post that they've broadened their search to locations outside of Washington and National Harbor looks very attractive.
The organization has about one hundred employees at its headquarters in Baltimore. It's been located there since 1986.
