Lips: Lining Them Up Right

With summer almost a memory, it's time to focus on those new fall makeup colors. And if you're a smart shopper, you should have a couple of classic lipstick shades left over from last year. Fortunately, lip liner shades don’t change much from year to year. The trick is making sure you apply them properly.
When using a lip pencil to define your natural lip line, begin at the top middle portion of your upper lip. For the appearance of fuller lips, which many women of color are already blessed with, line slightly above your natural lip line.
To give lip color more staying power, apply an underling layer over the entire lip before you apply your lip color. This technique is also great if you want to darken up a current lip color that’s too light.
If your lips tend to be on the dry side, even after you’ve moisturized well, try using a fat lip pencil, which has a smoother consistency and is formulated to glide on.
