My biggest goal for '07, fashion wise at least, is to find my business style. I’m great at weekends and nights out -- any event that calls for a dress is my idea of a good time. Bar attire is second nature. But dressing for the office is a stumper. My office's dress code is pretty lax and I typically wear jeans and a sweater or button-down top. Usually I wear ballet flats but can wear sneakers if I choose. I look like a soccer mom in training. This year I resolve to take some of my weekend flair to work. To achieve this rather lofty goal I will do the following:

      1. Find a seamstress or a tailor – long, ripped jeans are not OK.
      2. Abandon trends for classic pieces – thank God Target has cashmere.
      3. Accessorize my day-time outfits

In addition, this will be the year I start making investments in good clothing. No more junk! I will purchase what magazines like Vogue and Bazaar call "key pieces". For me this will be a tailored pair of black pants, a crisp white shirt (b/c Glamour says I simply must have one!) and some fancy jeans. Please note, I do not mean fancy jeans with rhinestones and animal print patches. I mean I will find some jeans that are the perfect fit and length for me. No more showing up to the office with tattered cuffs b/c I've walked off the bottom of my pants. It's time to grow up.

Not all of us need a total overhaul to our wardrobe though. Sometimes the best fashion resolution can be to update one thing about your look. Check out what some of our readers plan to do to usher in the New Year – and Spring '07!

Shan01: My resolution will be to buy pants in other colors besides black. I am the queen of black pants having them in every style possible. It is just so much easier when getting dressed for work because they go with every color shirt! Didn't realize it was a "problem" until my s.o. went with me shopping & when I PAUSED to look at some pants he said "please get something besides black". That's when I realized I need help.

jaedalaurez1: My FASHION resolution is to stop dressing like a "mommy"- albeit a fashionable one. LOL. I am wearing sneakers and I'm not running anywhere.

Gdnthck2: I'll have to say mine (resolution) is to go through my clothes and get rid of what I can't fit into. Stop holding on to it thinking it's too cute to give away.

JeansoverManolos: My resolution is to PUT THE SWEATSHIRTS DOWN! I stay in somebody's sweatshirt. When I going to the store, family's house, basically anywhere that is socially acceptable to wear a sweatshirt. My church recently got new sweatshirts and I was entirely too excited. That is when I realized that this is a problem.

      Enchnted324:
      1. I will buy cute workout clothes! LOL A couple of people have commented on my big sweats that I absolutely love!
      2. I will let go of the work clothes that no longer fit! My Director actually told me she is going to drag me out to buy more clothes! LOL (I gained a few lbs when I started my job and grad school, so I finally lost it and now 90% of my clothes look baggy! UGH. But I want to loose 5-10 more lbs so I refused to buy new clothes until I reach my goal!) LOL
      3. I will go and explore more hair options so I don't wake up every morning with the urge to cut all of my hair off again! LOL I miss being bald!

Bybygrrl: I will update my suits and have them tailored and I will take time at night to lie out and press my clothes and choose my accessories for the next day. I will also try on outfits in the evening so that I don't end up uncomfortable all day or wasting time in the morning because I thought something was right and it wasn't.

Lady_Splendid: I guess mine would be to stick with shoes that fit, even if it means I have to spend a lot more money than I'm used to (I'm an 8N, nobody but Nordstrom carries that size in-store). Also, I need to get better pajamas and a nice coat.

Aznastyazichoose: In 2007 I will make it my business to get rid of all these bulky sweaters, coats and jackets that I don't wear. Every year I tell myself that I will donate or give them away, but when I look at them I can't part with them.
