Houston -- we've got NO problems. Or so it seems. Though there have been some blips on the radar screen including a complicated influx of Katrina victims, a resounding World Series loss and increased notoriety for codeine and promethazine use, H-Town's hot streak shows no sign of slowing, especially in music -- producing more platinum than a South African quarry.

Off Topic with Chamillionaire

Black Voices Entertainment: chamilionaireRetna

Name: Chamillionaire

Last Album: 'Summer 2k5'

Current Release: 'The Sound of Revenge'

OT Quotable: [Mayor Ray Nagin] spent a lot of time complaining about everybody else, but there was some transportation in the city when the storm was coming. So I think he could've done a little more on his part.

      Back to Black Voices Entertainment
Rapper Chamillionaire, who hails from the city of candy-colored cars, creased jeans, screwed music and ''syrupy'' drinks, stands next in a line of successful H-Town-bred artists that did damage to music charts this year including Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Lil' Flip and Slim Thug.

After years of hustling mixtapes for the infamous Swishahouse label and a well-publicized falling out with his former partner in rhyme, Paul Wall, Cham's latest, 'The Sound of Revenge' drops Tuesday, Nov. 22. He goes off topic with BV:

Oprah is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her show. What would you want to go on 'Oprah' to talk about besides your music?

Anything besides music? Probably nothing. I want to hear what Oprah got to say. Some business tips from Oprah, that's what I want. Because everybody knows her story and that intrigues me more than my story.

      Boy shorts or thongs?

      Boy shorts or thongs?

      Not for you of course.

Oh, I thought it was one of those trick questions. Thongs.

M1 of dead prez and jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson have a duet on his upcoming solo album. What jazz, rock, country or R&B artist would you like to do a song with?

      The Gorillaz.

Def Jam Vendetta 2 is out. If you were a character what would your special power or move be?

Make a million dollars fall out the sky.

'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' is about to open. What kind of spell would you like to cast and on whom?

Make a million dollars fall into my pocket (laughs). Actually, I wouldn't cast a spell on nobody. I'd keep it the way it is.

What's the best non-rap record you ever heard "Chopped and Screwed?"

      R. Kelly, 'Bump and Grind.'

Which artifact from the '80s should stay there?

      (a) Cabbage Patch (the dance)
      (b) Jheri Curls
      (c) Arsenio Hall
      (d) Cross Colors

      Cross Colors.

If you were governor or mayor of Louisiana, would you have handled Katrina differently? How?

I would've done something with them 200 buses that were under the water. [Mayor Ray Nagin] spent a lot of time complaining about everybody else, but there was some transportation in the city when the storm was coming. So I think he could've done a little more on his part.
