According to your emails, many of you are battling acne and dark spots on your skin. Let's assume that you’re all downing at least eight glasses of H2O daily. In addition, here are four more skin care tips to help you win the war and get the flawless complexion you desire.
Relax, Relate, Release
When you’re under stress, your body stimulates adrenaline and other hormones that contribute to acne and blemishes. Take some time for a bi-weekly, 15-minute massage at your local spa to relieve a little stress. Or, determine what causes you stress and work on ways to alleviate the problem.
Catch Some Z's
According to the National Institutes of Health, most women aren't getting enough shut-eye, which can have a negative effect on the central nervous system. Lack of sleep causes puffy eyes, moodiness and tired looking skin. Experts recommend anywhere from eight to nine hours of sleep a night, depending on how active you are.
Know Your Skin Type
Are you using the proper cleansers and moisturizers for your skin? We all fall into one of the following categories: oily, normal-to-oily, dry and normal-to-dry. (Your skin may also change with the season.) Make sure your skin regimen is correct for your skin type. During the warmer months, after cleansing your face, only apply moisturizer to the dry areas to minimize shine on oily skin.

Cover Up

Although we are not as prone to sunburn, we must still make every effort to protect our skin, especially with the ever-depleting ozone layer. To protect skin from the sun's damaging rays, apply at least a SPF 30 sunscreen 30 minutes before heading outdoors.
